It's something I haven't felt before. Not until these past few days. Not until I've spent all my mana learning to throw arrows made of fire at little rabbits. Not until I killed a wolf without help. Not until I made it to the river, even when wild boars wanted to skewer me to trees.

Brushing off my hands, I lean back on my haunches. A strange sense of pride swells in my chest as I gaze at the buried meat bundle. Look at me. Stuck in the tower for most of my adult life, without any experience adventuring, and yet I'm here, alone, wrapping food in mud to cook over a fire. Who would have thought?
