What if the goal of the devoted wasn't to break the cycle but to introduce a third party in the two party war. Like some form of balance to keep both the demons and gods in check? Perhaps their goal isn't to consume Xiviyah but to ascend her to either godhood or turn her into an emperor or something different entirely but akin to a goddess? Just a random thought
I wonder how much of Xiviyah's personality has changed since incorporating the two demon lords and their demons as well as seeing Jessia's memories. That must've taken a toll
The horde moved quickly, tearing through the forest. Fable loped at a seemingly relaxed pace, remaining in the middle and away from the Black Mist. That wasn't exactly difficult, given the near mile-wide spread of demons charging on all sides. Forty thousand demons were far from a subtle force.

Dumb question, but how are apostles created exactly? Is it the demon lord's or emperors who grant the power? Could they also take away the power?
It would be kind of poetic for Xiviyah to learn oblivion and destroy Rash'alon's soul simply because of his statement here

Adaptive resistance for curse is 8th level, and Rash'alon is also 8th level. I think he'll be in for a rough surprise
