Just around them!
"But then I learned what it meant to be a Hale, and suddenly it made sense. He did not see me as strange or majestic or frightening because his ancestors had long been around actual dragons."

Awww! Thank you! 🥰🥹🙈
He only took off his top earlier!
It was over his pants, but the heat that flared made him take a sharp breath before bracing himself against Kael's sturdy chest. The hand was bold, palm wide and warm, cupping him through the thin fabric with a grip that left no room for denial.

Good take! If I were Kael, I would likely end up just as frustrated, especially when he doesn't understand why there is even a need for it. But just as Riley is aware that he's pushing for human ideologies, he's also fully aware that he won't have the safety and benefits of an actual dragon mating bond. Because unfortunately, for a non-dragon mating bond, it'll only be Riley who would have an issue if an exit strategy isn't forcibly created. His only way out of this would be through a casket. Then again, why would he even need an exit strategy, right? Sadly, Riley can't read Kael's mind like we all do. And just like Riley would have to accept all the problems that would come with mating with a dragon, Kael would likely have to do the same. But in truth, Riley would be the only one with no leg to stand on the moment the mating bond starts. There is nothing there that would actually kill Kael the moment he decides Riley isn't as good as his fated mate. And if he just waits it out, he'd actually be able to change partners. So in truth, Kael's "all-in" just means roughly a century's worth of damage. But not for Riley. There is no divorce, no annulment, and definitely no running away unless it's to the afterlife. Now, say Riley asks a stranger, "Should I immediately surrender my life to someone with the following conditions?" - Unsure if we actually love each other. - Used to be my crazy boss. - Was engaged for more than 900 years to an actual fated mate. - We actually haven't dated and only just recently stopped trying to curse each other actively. - Has an actual biological instinct to prefer dragons. - Would um, live forever. - Oh, and would come with a basket of assassinations and a clan that would prefer him dead. - Though the guy SAYS he would keep him safe. - Ah, and the guy happens to be a dragon. - The actual dragon lord, in fact. The answer would likely be debatable. Then again, my daughter would likely just ask if he's cute.
Then, of all things, the dragon lord—ancient, feared, and terrifying—was actually sitting there, pouting about not wanting to be mistaken for a concubine.

Thank you so much for the gift! 🥹💝 I really appreciate it! 🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️
Not your imagination! But it’s more like the update didn’t stick. If anything was edited it won’t reflect unless the app gets restared so sometimes what you’d see would be the version that doesn’t exist anymore. Even changing a punctuation would delete thecomments attached to it so they’d appear as blank! 🥹😭 Sorry about that!
