Good take! If I were Kael, I would likely end up just as frustrated, especially when he doesn't understand why there is even a need for it. But just as Riley is aware that he's pushing for human ideologies, he's also fully aware that he won't have the safety and benefits of an actual dragon mating bond. Because unfortunately, for a non-dragon mating bond, it'll only be Riley who would have an issue if an exit strategy isn't forcibly created. His only way out of this would be through a casket. Then again, why would he even need an exit strategy, right? Sadly, Riley can't read Kael's mind like we all do. There is nothing there that would actually kill Kael the moment he decides Riley isn't as good as his fated mate. And if he just waits it out, he'd actually be able to change partners. So in truth, Kael's "all-in" just means roughly a century's worth of damage. But not for Riley. There is no divorce, no annulment, and definitely no running away unless it's to the afterlife.
