I leaned back down on my bed, thinking about the choices she had put on offer. It felt suddenly like picking vacation spots or travel destinations. This really isn't what I imagined life would be like when I first arrived in this world…I thought back to what happened when I first got summoned to this world. The confusion, the preparations to fight, the gearing myself up for glory and chaos, the sharpening of everyone's focus and ambition.

I pondered the question for a moment, struggling to soak in all the sights before me, before my question was answered for me. Out of the brush to one side an intense, high-pitched buzzing cut through the chorus of noise. I turned to see large centipede-like creatures with long, segmented bodies and bright red pincers flying out from the canopy. Their bright red eyes fixed on me as soon as they saw me, and their buzzing turned even more fever-pitched as they darted towards me in a swarm, ready to attack.

Undead beasts are forbidden under Melphinoe's rule, hence she's never smelled the scent of one. (of course she's obvi smelled plenty of other undead)
There was a new scent in this building, a scent she had never smelled before in all her long life, and it smelled foul and vaguely…necromantic in nature? Her eyes narrowed. Necromancy? Around beasts? In the mind of mortals like Rufi the rule that beasts could never be raised as undead had been around so long as to become a sacred tenant of the Goddess' religion. Her fur bristled and she felt faint chills even at the thought of it.
