This story has great potential. You can also checkout my book called, THE WORLD ENDS AT MIDNIGHT. You'll never regret reading that book. It has all the elements that you expect from the story. Give it a try!

Thank you for your feedback! I know it is a very slow pacing in the beginning chapters but I can guarantee you that after Arthur left the village at the end of volume 1, the pacing will pick up and the actual story starts as many important characters enters the story. And about the question you had about why did he not open the book or try how to use it... well he tried it on chapter 15 but the book doesnt open even when he tried so many times. And about how to use it, he will be able to use it a tiny amount of power from the book after he is awakened which happened on chapter 55. Spoiler: Arthur is not a controller like others who will awaken their innate ability, but his ability stems from the book itself and what the book is, how powerful it is, and how is it linked to Arthur... everything will eventually come to know as the story progresses.

Thank you for your feedback... this is my first novel so I'm trying to describe whatever the protagonist is seeing and going through his thoughts. Anyhow, I'll definetely keep it in mind in my upcoming chapters.

This was my first real look at the village.

Author here: This is my first novel, so the early chapters may be a bit shorter and rougher. I’m constantly working to improve my writing, and I truly appreciate any feedback you’re willing to share. If you notice anything that could be better, feel free to point it out. I’ll do my best to improve with every chapter.

    The World Ends At Midnight

Fantasy ACTION ROMANCE ADVENTURE COMEDY MYSTERY DARK SUPERPOWERS APOCALYPSE THRILLER SUSPENSE

    Recently Updated

At 11:59:48 PM, everything around Ethan suddenly goes silent. The rain hangs motionless in the air, cars stop in the middle of the road, and people freeze where they stand. Even the city itself seems to hold its breath. When Ethan looks up, he sees something impossible. A black moon hangs unnaturally close in the sky as cracks spread across the Earth, buildings collapse, and flames consume the streets. The city is falling apart around him, yet he has no idea why. Before Ethan can understand what is happening, he finds himself severely injured in the middle of the ruined city, standing before a mysterious woman in a blood-stained wedding dress. Something about her feels strangely familiar, but before he can understand why, he reaches out to take her hand. Darkness suddenly engulfs everything around him. Ethan wakes to the sound of rain. The city outside is peaceful. The streets are intact, the black moon is nowhere to be seen, and there is no trace of the destruction he witnessed. With nothing to prove that any of it ever happened, Ethan slowly convinces himself that it was nothing more than a nightmare. But the nightmare doesn't end when he wakes. As strange incidents begin appearing around him and impossible traces emerge from places that should hold no secrets, Ethan is forced to confront a terrifying possibility. The things he saw that night may not have been a dream at all. Some dreams aren't dreams. And when midnight comes again, the world may not be the same one he remembers. I used to believe my life was simple. I was the son of a noble, living a sheltered and carefree life. My days were filled with study, laughter, and the comfort of knowing my future was secure. Never once did I imagine how quickly everything could be taken away. Then, on the night of my sixteenth birthday, that illusion shattered. In a single night, my world collapsed. My family was gone. My home was lost. Forced to flee with nothing but grief, a loyal steward, and my family's hidden artifact, an ancient and mysterious book, I found myself thrown into a world far crueler and more dangerous than I had ever imagined.
