I was really enjoying this until chapter 89, where things went off the deep end. Not only did the writing take a sudden and harsh nosedive, but Ethan's entire characterization up to this point was thrown away.
Forcing a plot point like this is wild. It strongly feels like this whole thing was just a vehicle to meet the twins. There were absolutely better ways to do this. Establish a threat, real stakes, etc.
Whenever you have a character going, "I wouldn't normally do this, but...", followed by accompanying a veritable stranger into a sealed facility...there's an issue. Additionally, no amount of flaccid screen time will make me care about Lara and Jake. They offer literally nothing to the story.
I really hope this turns back around. I was enjoying it a lot up until this point.
