Nope no problems reading normally but while I can't say much about the future chapters, it is extremely difficult to read this section in particular. This is my 4th attempt at reading this story and I still can't get passed this arc of the story. It's not about whether Thane had a reason or not to stay blind. It's about the blatant hypocrisy of Lee. He gets onto their cases about not helping the old man and yet immediately stops them from helping when they do try. He himself has no idea of the past Thane experienced nor did he really ever talk with Thane about whether or not he wants to be cured. And yet despite this he made his own assumptions (though they happened to be right) and forced them onto everyone else. And keep in mind that he's known Thane for even less time than any of these adventurers and yet already acts like he's more entitled to care for him than anyone else despite not offering any monetary help despite his massive stockpile of gold, no offer of healing despite his skills and resources, and only exists to eff things up with his lack of control. Sorry for the essay response but I hope this makes it clear why some people are not happy with Lee right now. He might have good intentions but he's judging them from the perspective of someone who is extremely powerful can literally do anything while the adventurers are merely normal humans that are just trying their best to make it through life and now are trying to make up for the past in their own limited ways. PS. Why do you feel the need to immediately jump in and insult everyone else without understanding their perspectives? Absolutely incomprehensible, and if I may engage in some hypocrisy myself, it's quite childish if anything.

"Now wait just a second," said Li. "Old Thane might complain here and there about his blindness, but he doesn't feel strongly about having it removed."
