I've been in a horror mood since I played Fear and Hunger. I will only write horror-esque stories for now.

it's a term I heard somewhere from a UFC youtuber, it means the vertical line of attack.

She tightened her body-line, making it impossible for my punch to land somewhere damaging.

That's what I'm going for

Well, she lent me her couch for sleeping, I think it's perfectly normal if I make breakfast for the two of us, as thanks.

Kinda hard tbh

"Voilà! Behold, a humble Lord, cast vicariously as a layman, fell from grace, living freely from lecture to lecture. This look, no mere layer of swagger, is a legacy of the legendary legend, now forsaken, squandered. However, this valourous visitation, laced and laden with machinations, shall be liberated with solicitude for the lovely Lorelei. This labyrinthe of locution indeed appears most loquacious, so let me simply add that it's my very good honour to meet both you and you may call me Layne."

Making my way from the Eight Path district where the Carter Manor stood, I went eastward, towards the Six Ridges, the market district of the city. The paved cobblestone roads helped my footing, unlike the time when I was a wandering bard. The buildings outside the manor seem quite gothic and reminiscent of the "Victorian" style, although I do not know where I got that word. Perhaps it was part of my past self's memories.

made me remember about a work where the MC was given money and chose to buy bread out of all things he could buy; It all went stale after 3 days, bruh moment

Feeling a bit baffled, I took a look inside the pouch. Inside was enough money for a commoner to live lavishly for at least five years. I think something strange is afoot. From what I've seen, it appears that I'm not really hated. More like they're somewhat anxious about me going outside of the Manor. Starting with Alfred who asked me questions about the future, father who seemed happy with my answers, and finally, elder sister Sarah who gave me spending money.

The writing quality is good to some degree with small grammatical errors, albeit won't be quite as noticeable as you integrate yourself with the story. Now, the story itself is full of drama, intrigue, and tragedy, of which I'm not a big fan, but I'll try to review it as objectively as possible. ====Little spoiler ahead==== . . . . . . . . We follow a girl named Deyan, an assassin who set out on killing an important person because of X reasons (again, I'll try to keep it as spoiler free as possible). She got helped by an insider, and see the horrors of war there, etc. etc. These characters are crafted beautifully and they had some charm to them, but sadly they're held back by the world background that doesn't really explain anything apart from a place called Benma that's at war. It was as if we were watching a war film without any background information, just characters interacting with each other. I'm not saying it's bad, but it certainly leaves me with somewhat mixed feelings. At one point I feel the interactions are good as is, but I also felt it could be much better.
