That whole personality change thing seems weird. Why would the oracle want that? Clearly those traits didn't help people accomplish the oracles goal, so why still pursuit it? If there was, everyone would be 'reprogrammed'. This seems like a really bad choice to fight the digestors. Huge drawback those soulclasses.

Basically this sect is a huge pyramid scheme, the blood gu will kill you, it's just a matter of delaying it with the death of others. The poison gu sounds similar, probably both gu are a tonic for the sectleader who shouldn't have one of them inside, unless he is stupid. So your only chance is to starve those gu early, since you won't outpace them forever or have some Mc luck and stumble over a solution. Your progress doesn't matter, surviving is based on slowing the gu down until you can cripple its growth. It is not symbiotic if it will kill you, it's parasitic.

Was fun at first, but this arc and the horrible ending... Who needs West if the story doesn't deviate at the most important part of the story? He should be strong enough to deal with it by now, stronger than Potter at book 8,but what does he do? I'm fine with following the Canon to make it easier, but if it plays out just the same the Mc is just pointless and you can read HP instead.
