Celebrating Years of Poetry

The ancient poems that appeared in Joy of Life included Zhang Kejiu's " Joy in front of the Palace·Ci Suanzhai Rhyme " of the Yuan Dynasty, Bai Juyi's " Farewell to the Ancient Grass " and " Spring Journey to Qiantang Lake " of the Tang Dynasty, and Xin Qiji's " Pozi Ci to Send to Chen Tongfu " of the Song Dynasty. These poems covered different eras and literary styles. Through describing natural landscapes and expressing personal emotions, they showed the inner world and emotional changes of Fan Xian and other characters. The appearance of these poems enriched the plot, added to the artistic atmosphere, and also provided the audience with a literary enjoyment.

Other than that, there were also Li Bai's " Let's Drink " and Li Yu's " When Will Beauty Yu's Spring Flowers and Autumn Moon End ". These poems were recited or quoted by Fan Xian and other characters in the play, adding a literary charm to the plot.

Fan Xian recited 100 ancient poems in the play, including Li Bai's " About to Drink," Li Yu's " Beauty Yu," and Tang Yin's " Peach Blossom Poem."

The scene of Fan Xian's battle of poems in Joy of Life appeared in episodes 7 and 27. In the seventh episode, Fan Xian participated in a poetry meet organized by King Jing and became famous for Du Fu's " Ascending the Mountain." In episode 27, Zhuang Mohan questioned Fan Xian for plagiarizing his master's work. In order to prove his talent, Fan Xian recited 300 poems of Tang poetry.
