What is meant by the theme of a story?

" You are just pranking me, right? This is all not true, I don't believe it! " He shook her by her shoulders, tears rolling down his cheeks. " Stop it! I don't want to be touched by you again! You were just a pawn in my game!" She said cruelly breaking his heart as well as her hers. " Here, these are the divorce papers. I have signed it already! Goodbye!"  She threw the papers on the table and started walking. " Nooooo!" Pulling his hair in frustration, he fell on his knees crying for his already gone wife. ..... She is a spider, creating a web where he is just a beautiful butterfly, that got stuck inside. She let him know she is his angel, she let him know that she cares about him, she let him know how it feels to be loved, she let him see the taste of freedom. She did everything which made his life like a normal happy man. But after doing everything, but after fixing his broken heart she broke it again She broke him ruthlessly. But he realized he became a pawn in her revenge games. She used him as a knife to kill the beasts like a vicious snake filled with anger and resentment.  She used him to take back the things which were MEANT TO BE HERS.
