“Live by the sword, die by the sword.” You had died by the sword. Death however was not what you expected. Thrust alone into a new world. You have to navigate the dangers of the unknown and manifest your destiny. An interactive quest. The readers of the quest are essentially a pantheon of Gods that steer the life of the protagonist, well them and the dice gods.

In a world where superheroes dominate society, both good and corrupt, three high school friends—Aaron, Dave, and Jake—stumble upon an ancient ritual and summon a powerful entity. In a moment of shock, the entity, impressed by their boldness and lack of sacrifices, grants each of them unique superpowers. Aaron, the optimistic and courageous one, gains the ability to evolve by tapping into the powers of animals and mythical creatures, though this new strength begins to chip away at his sanity. Dave, introverted and harboring a deep resentment for how others treat him, receives the power to use real-life “hacks” from video games, enabling him to manipulate reality in ways only he understands. Jake, struggling to hold the group together, discovers his raw physical abilities, but soon finds a darker power awakening within him—the ability to steal and harness the abilities of the heroes he kills. As they navigate their newfound powers, the trio tries to lead normal lives at school, but the weight of their abilities soon pulls them into the chaotic world of superheroes. Testing their limits in secret, their lives are thrown into disarray when they are discovered by the Hero Management, an organization tasked with regulating superpowered beings. As the three friends are forced to choose different paths, their powers begin to tear at the bonds of friendship. Aaron struggles to remain good-hearted, Dave starts to believe in using his powers to change the world, while Jake’s growing rage leads him on a deadly rampage. Caught between the demands of their powers and the collapse of their friendship, the trio will have to face the ultimate question: Will they become heroes, villains, or something else entirely? As tensions rise, friendships fracture, and the line between good and evil blurs, their journey will shape the fate of their world and determine whether their powers are a gift or a curse.

So your telling me I’m not special, I didn’t get run over by a truck, I didn’t save any children by my last acts on earth. Heck nothing I did mattered! No world peace caused by me taking good care of some children or inspiring someone to cure cancer!? I lived, I wound up dying, and you have me here so you can have some entertainment… “Yes. Having used the interactive version I couldn’t help but make up a fun little story. Of course I have changed some things, which should be obvious from the tags to the story as well as noticeable as you read (I’ll get around to the tags at some point). I have labelled it “Broken CYOA” for a reason! Now to assuage some worries though I have broken the CYOA I’m not going to make the main character too op, I’ve broken it in other areas, as seen in the introduction above.
