Respawned as The Count of Glow-Up

Respawned as The Count of Glow-Up

This novel is an abridged retelling of 'The Count of Monte Cristo' by Alexandre Dumas. If you're wondering about the cringe-worthy title, it's because I initially wrote the novel under the comedy genre, hence, the overly gen z lingo. Later on, I realised how bad of an idea it was, fortunately so, because it felt like tarnishing the value of the original rather than enhancing it, and decided to rewrite it as a faithfully serious adaptation which aims to reduce the political complexity of the plot as well as to make the narrative more accessible to contemporary readers, without insulting what made the original story timeless. --- Synopsis:- Edmond Dantès had everything, a bright future, the love of his life, and the loyalty of his friends, or so he thought. Until the day it was all ripped away. Branded a criminal for a crime he never committed, he’s locked away in prison where the world forgets him. Years pass, but his fire doesn’t die. Then fate delivers him an impossible key: knowledge, power, and the means to carve his way back into the world. Edmond is reborn, not as the broken man who once begged for justice, but as a phantom cloaked in wealth, influence, and secrets. With every whispered deal, every calculated strike, he tears apart the empire of those who destroyed him. But vengeance is never clean. As the line blurs between justice and obsession, the questions remain: is he reclaiming his stolen life… or becoming something darker than the men he hunts? A saga of betrayal, rebirth, and ruthless revenge. Perfect for fans of psychological drama, sharp intrigue, and slow-burn retribution.

Count Duke The Fat (J.P. Japhet)

Count Duke The Fat (J.P. Japhet)

Meet Vivian, a powerless Princess who was sold off in an auction the new Emperor sugarcoated as a ball. Sadly for Vivian, the one who got her was Duke the Fat, a lowly count known for being weak and fat. On the night of their consummation, she no longer could hide her misery and burst into tears. But instead of getting a hard slap as she expected for showing her disgust of him, Duke instead started to cry with her?! And instead of forcing himself on her, they TALK instead?! Now meet Duke called by many as The Fat. Duke was never lucky in life as everyone he knew mocked and belittled him. But it wasn't all bad as at least he still had a loving grandpa. And Duke was content with that. Having someone, even if it was just one person who believed in him. Until he didn't. One day his grandpa died and Duke was alone. He wanted to make his grandpa proud, but it was just too hard for him to fight the world alone. That is until he caught sight of Vivian. Read as Vivian becomes Duke's inspiration and how Duke becomes Vivian's pillar. Watch love sprout from a misunderstanding between a fat Count and a lonely Princess. And don't worry! Duke won't be The Fat forever! No. For this is not the story of some countryside Count and his wife. This is the story of Gailasfall, The legendary World Conqueror, The Berserk Dragon, and Eater of Gods. Or as he is known by those close to him, Duke Pendragon, ridiculed during his youth as "The Fat" But now even the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars dare not offend his whose name inspires fear and awe. And his mysterious wife. The enigmatic figure who would one day secretly run the world's politics and economy. "The Phantom Pillar" they named her and those who saw her beauty called her "The Hidden Rose Thorn" But Duke called her by a different name. He called her Vivian. Hello~!
