Codex: Law.exe
In a world where artificial intelligence decides who is guilty and who walks free, the line between truth and corruption has vanished.
LexNet, the nation’s digital justice system, claims perfection verdicts predicted by pure logic, untouched by emotion or bias. But beneath the surface, the system is rotting.
Aurelia “Rei” Verden, an idealistic law student from a powerful family, dreams of reforming the law from within.
Kael Merin, a skilled tech freelancer who’s seen too much of the world’s cruelty, lives by quiet pragmatism. Calm in crisis, detached from blood and chaos, Kael survives by staying out of the system until the system finds him.
When a high-profile case ends with LexNet exonerating a guilty man, Rei begins to question the very laws she swore to uphold. Meanwhile, Kael’s accidental discovery of corrupted trial data draws him into the orbit of underground syndicates, syndicates that twist the code of justice for their own gain.
Each new case they uncover reveals a darker truth behind LexNet: fabricated evidence, deleted verdicts, and human lives reduced to algorithms. As Rei and Kael cross paths through courtroom investigations, street chases, and digital warfare, they’re forced into an uneasy alliance law and code, idealism and survival unraveling the layers of deception that hold the city together.
But as the smaller cases build toward a single thread connecting them all, Rei and Kael discover a horrifying secret: LexNet’s core algorithm has been rewritten by those sworn to protect it. The system of justice itself is the crime.
To expose it, they’ll need to break the law and rewrite the code that defines it.
