Wendell is a quiet, soft–spoken bartender who tends an isolated bar in a wasteland where time slips, memories decay, and reality bends at the edges. He does not know how long he has been here. He barely remembers who he is. Each day, more of his mind withers, leaving behind only fragments and rituals, like polishing glasses that reflect things no mirror should ever show. He only understood one thing. If he serves someone a second drink, he forgets them completely. Wendell believes he is trapped within the bar. He believes he is human. He believes the strange distortions around him are simply the nature of this broken world. But when a woman he almost recognizes stumbles inside, and flees in terror, followed by a quiet young man with a briefcase that should not exist, cracks begin to form in Wendell’s fading identity. The man treats him with an unsettling familiarity. He waits. He watches. And when Wendell finally opens the abandoned briefcase, a vortex erupts and drags him inside. Only then is the truth revealed. Wendell is not a forgotten bartender at all. He is a creature bound to the bar for reasons he can no longer recall. A monster whose memories have been stripped away and sealed inside a device meant to contain him.

After reading the upteenth Chinese cultivation novel, tired of the repetitive cliches, I thought to create a fan-fic of a cultivation world I would prefer. I then realized that would be a great disservice to both you and me because a.) I don't nearly have enough imagination juice to put forth a decent cohesive story. b.) It would be a waste of both your and my time aka life. So apologies to both @KingofEveryone and @whydoineedanamerly, no story from me. Also an apology about the title, it was literally the first thing I saw when I was thinking of a title. You may be thinking, "So.. if this isn't a fan-fic, what is it?" I dunno.

Please note that this story is not going to be continued as I am not satisfied with its quality. I currently don't know how to delete stories so I guess that it will remain here, but if you are interested in stories of this type, I am currently working on similar work. I hope this helps :D

This is a tale about small unimportant things happening to small unimportant people, hence despite appearances, it's a lot more coherent with our reality than one might think at first. Keep an open mind and you might actually find yourself in one of the characters or the animals, perhaps even in the scenery, as you dive into the story of three young rascals seeking adventure and usually finding trouble while navigating through a mysterious universe full of strange characters, troubled entities, rude animals and sentient plantlife.
