These inherited powers called sweets have blended into daily life for the city of Sweetwater. Nero Gingerbread is the latest in this line of detectives, and he is determined to use his power to create his art. Detectives of Sweetwater are allowed to take on cases alone once they have reached adulthood. Nero, having just turned 18-year-old, finds satisfaction in creating detailed maps of crime scenes and considers solving crimes to be a work of art. Nero is tasked with his first case solving the murder of a young man in an alley Nero uses his unique ability to see the past of the victim, but he soon finds he may not be ready for what he discovers. Sometimes, it is better to leave things unknown.
