This is my billet-doux (a fancy word I've always wanted to use but never had the chance) to the written world. Sometimes it feels like a light novel, and other times like a novel. It's not perfect because it's not meant to be; it's mine, and I enjoy it being mine. So prepare yourself, because my dream is ending, and I have to at least leave a footprint in this world of what was once my dream. (As I mentioned before, this is my billet-doux, probably in 5-10 years the process of writing will just be a bunch of AI's with our personal data so I had to rush this without properly learning everything I wished I could, even if it's not a 10/10 masterpiece, the work is good enough to be at least 7/10 I also might or not might teach you something.) Henry and Jim have spent a life in love, from the very first date arranged by Henry's sister, through the rocky times they worked to make ends meet, and into their twilight years.<br><br>Old men now, Henry reminisces about the love they've shared as he learns to cope with Jim's fading memory and his own fear of being forgotten by the only man he's ever loved.

This work is intended to stand unto itself as more a living, breathing, portrait of art painted with carefully chosen words, than just a really interesting story told. The intent here is for the reader to view the landscape through the eyes of the main character, to feel what he does as he ambles along in this adventure. When the main character feels the pain and pleasures of the old dirt road, then all will only be right if the reader feels these same identical experiences. As the phantom of the old dirt lashes out in retribution of the sins in the main character's past, then the hope here likewise is that the reader will feel the need for adjustment in the course of his own life, as he too travels the old dirt road through the world of the secular experience. Upon reaching this point in the story, the reader should experience the thrills of an exciting climax as the main character reaches the point of his destination, as well as end the experience with a new positive in-site into the plan for improvement into both his own secular and spiritual life.
