THE RECUR
Jonas Lockwood, a brilliant, narcissistic physics professor whose soul is crushed by a secret pain and an escalating drug addiction, lives a life defined by sterile routine and calculated lies. His careful world shatters when a student brutally dies in his classroom—an incident the police dismiss as a drug-fueled frenzy. Jonas, however, knows the truth is darker: he supplied the drugs, and his "hallucinations"—vivid visions of mass slaughter and a terrifying cult—are blurring the line between his psyche and reality.
Fired, broke, and running low on his supply of mysterious medication, Jonas flees to his distant hometown of Busan, hoping to exploit his mother for money and escape the terrifying figures now tracking him. But his childhood home is no sanctuary. Instead, he finds a gruesome occult shrine in the bathroom—a blood symbol, candles, and a rotten goat's head—proving the ritualistic horror has followed him.
With a relentless stalker on his trail and a skeptical detective closing in, Jonas must confront the terrifying possibility that the chaos surrounding him is not a delusion, but the result of a profound, historical evil that his own scientific arrogance and moral decay have invited.
In a world where time bends and reality breaks, is Jonas running from a supernatural cult, or is he fleeing the monstrous truth of his own human nature?
