Economic Power
My mother-in-law said she doesn’t consider me an outsider and wants to entrust me with the family’s financial power.
Therefore, on the first day after I got married, she transferred the family’s money into a joint account.
I was reluctant to take on this burden.
But she said earnestly:
"We are one family, no need for separate words."
Who knew that once the money was handed over to me, I realized it’s easy to listen but hard to manage.
No one in the family seems to understand human language, and their expenses are all based on mood.
Before long, my mother-in-law suggested buying a house.
The whole family took me to the real estate agency to pay.
She said decisively:
"We have saved enough, 500,000!"
"Olivia, after the down payment, let’s buy a car with the remaining money."
"It’ll be more convenient for you to get to work."
I shook my head with a bitter smile.
"Didn’t I say, there’s actually not much money at home."
My husband flew into a rage on the spot and pointed at my face, cursing:
"All our family’s salary is managed by you, and we haven’t spent much money, how can there be no money?!"
He shouted, wanting to audit accounts and causing a fuss about divorce.
I don’t indulge his antics.
"Fine, let’s divorce then, I can’t manage such a chaotic family!"
I pulled out the account statement of the family account, and except for my mother-in-law, everyone else was dumbfounded.
