Lâm Châu đi làm thêm tại Cửu Nguyệt Ốc và được bà chủ truyền cho một số công thức chế tạo viên năng lượng cho Pokemon. Sau đó, cậu gặp Từ Trạch Tiến - tên tội phạm truy nã mà Liên Minh Pokemon hiện đang truy đuổi và suýt mất mạng dưới tay hắn. Trong cuộc thi Xé Bảng Tên Pokemon, để bảo vệ chị gái Lâm Lam, Lâm Châu đã liều mình hạ gục hắn. Nhận thấy thực lực của Lâm Châu và cậu bạn Lưu Lạc, Vương Hoa Thần mời họ vào đội tuyển Pokemon của trường tham gia đấu giải cấp thành phố. Lâm Châu và Cáo Lửa đã cùng nhau nỗ lực luyện tập, nâng cao năng lực thực chiến, tiến gần đến giấc mơ trở thành huấn luyện viên.
