Chapter 100: Self Distraction
Nickel couldn't erase the painted smile on his face after Zoey left the room. It was like a blessing in disguise for him that the night he has been waiting for has come, the time that he will wake up in the morning with the girl he's been eyeing for sleep beside him.
Nickel can vaguely remember that he was taking a bath before he lost his consciousness. He even couldn't believe that with Zoey's petite body, she will be able to move him from one room to another. "Wow! She doesn't care to see me in my boxer shorts? Probably this is true love for us."
Everyone can say that Nickel has this habit of assuming things for his own good but this fiasco probably the best for him.
The weekend passed easily to our two neighbors. Nickel regains slightly himself over his last two-day rest. He quickly finished Zoey's braised pork the next he woke up beside her and he never forgets to drink is vitamins and flu medicines. Zoey's braised pork was like the self-made cure that he somehow knocked down his illness.
Nevertheless, he still stays at home because he was hoping that Zoey would come and check him up again. Unfortunately, she didn't.
Zoey, on the other hand, felt embarrassed and something that seems weirdly happy inside her chest from what had happened last time. Despite not knowing how she will face her boss again, she felt ungrateful from somehow taking advantage of some weaker than you. Not technically physically weak, but yeah you know what she meant.
It was actually awkward how her mind still pictures his body on her mind. "Ugh! Why am I remembering that again?" Zoey pulled her hair every time she remembers how she drooled his physique. "God, Zoey! Snap it out! You should maintain your prim and proper persona and don't let that lustful anima take over."
If others will hear about it, it would the end of her life. She thought.
Zoey wastes her weekend by distracting herself for remembering Nickel, but it seems like fate wants her to keep her mind over him. She will easily turn into a mad woman if fate will keep playing with her.
Just like how she was browsing fashion magazines on her coffee table. Pictures of male model continuously flashed through her eyes. Page per page it was either a half-naked man or a totally bare body that came to those pages.
Or the time when she was scanning her Instagram account. Post from her male influencers that were currently enjoying the beach with their sun-kissed, abs ready body in their boxer type of swimwear or with their trucks.
Or the time when she was checking out the latest and popular movie son her Netflix account to watch, but like what was happening from her previous attempts to distract herself, the movies suggested being Baywatch and more.
It was so frustrating on her part that wherever place or whatever she does; it wills all reminds her Nickel. Compared to those two it was only Zoey who felt down because Nickel is already looking forward to seeing her again in the office.
And because of that, he arrived over early that day. People in ASC were all stunned seeing him entering the building; it was like they are already got used too of not seeing the Director around. Their slacking days have already come to end because the emperor has arrived in the palace.
They all thought that Director Fuentes is furious early in the morning because, despite his excitement of seeing Zoey in "their" office room, his face tells otherwise. His grave face was plastered to everyone that morning. He really has a hard time showing to others that he was happy at that time.
May was also inside her office when she heard that Director Fuentes has returned. Just by hearing his name gives an unexplainable feeling for her, seems like fear and something we're always building in her part.
She waited for a while before knocking his office door, that time Zoey has also arrived and was already fixing her things on her desk.
"Good morning Director Fuentes and Officer Zoey, may I come in?" she politely asked before barging into someone's place.
"Good morning, May" Zoey replied with a bright smile for her which makes Nickel jealous because since the time she entered the room, she doesn't lay an eye to him.
"Go in." Director Fuentes. His previously bright face was changed by his serious expression. "Sit down and say your concern." He doesn't want to waste any time to anyone that is why he is asking May to directly tell him her aim.
"I would like to discuss the upcoming summer outing this weekend." She paused and took the documents on her folder. "May we discuss it inside the conference room." May prepared a lot for their first company outing and all her materials are all inside the conference. It was just reasonable for her to invite her boss inside.

Happy 100th chapter to us. I never imagine that will reach this number when I start writing this story. At first, I just want to tell the story of how my ex – boyfriend cheated on me (Michael style) to everyone just to mock and ridicule him. I just want to slightly alter the storyline but after loving the outcome of Zoey and Nickel's love story I already forgot my first agenda.
Now, let us all follow how love will blossom between Nickel and Zoey. To all my avid readers, I'm very thankful for you guys. Thank you and I love you.
