Chapter 4: Inevitability is sometimes that leads to certain preparations which only helps in satisfying oneself.

Looking at the paper in her hand, a woman was sighing to calm herself down. The people around her didn't notice the worry on her face but kept working.

"Is this about some cult forming? Do you think we have time for such things?"

"Inspector, we don't have time for it but the higher-ups are pushing it on us now because they are now in the middle of making the public calmer."

The women after hearing such an obvious remark sighed again. It was as if she wanted to retort "do you think I wouldn't know that?" but she didn't have the strength to start another argument.

"Even if the death rate rose in these recent years, this case is related to mental issues of people. Shouldn't the human resources team take care of that?"

"They have done their best but can only come up with some hypothesis. We need investigations that have detail even about the time even when these people moved in their own houses."

"We already have that! Why are you asking me to do it again?! Hey! You there, go and collect all the files regarding suicides that have happened in the past year till the present!"

A man who seemed to be in his early thirties rose from his seat and started going to another part of the office in frustration. The woman who was here to give the command to the inspector, on the other hand, knocked her hand on a desk twice to get the attention of the man and gestured him to stop.

"Wha…?"

Surprised about a sudden paper that was thrusted on the inspector's face, she became silent and read the contents. She held her head again but didn't sigh this time.

"You're assembling us just on a hypothesis?"

"Yes, it may be a hypothesis but this is the most comprehensible one. We don't intend to waste our time serving the people but to make them calm and stop these supernatural occurrences, we need to do whatever that is in our power."

The inspector nodded and stood from her seat.

"Where are you going inspector?"

"To do your job, dumbass"

Her crude remarks were most probably due to not sighing out her anger. The women understanding this went back to her desk and started typing something on her computer.

Sylfaen, a man who looked like he was in his late 20s with a sturdy build, black hair of diligent size and dark bags under his eyes was playing around with an inorganic floating screen like thing.

He was quite curiously trying all sorts of things with it. It had been some 5 days since he had come to this strange place and met various borderline crazy people.

Sure about only one thing about this place, he had come to an isolated house where he did his daily necessities which consisted of sleeping, reading novels and playing games on a computer and again sleeping. Doing the same thing for 3 days had bored him and thus he tried exercising today and after making his muscles sore, he stopped and started playing with the inorganic bar.

"I need a better computer, dammit!"

Muttering this to himself, he stood from his place and went to the scooter he had come here with. He jumped on it and started going in the direction which was unknown to him.

Unable to send the desired signals they hoped to send, the man and woman sighed.

"You think we can escape this place, Volock?"

The woman, Irina said in a self-deprecating manner. She looked like a woman in her 30s with blond hair tied in a bun and wearing an office uniform that made people aware of her figure that she had been working on for quite some time.

"This place is quite the dream for a man but with the rate the bar is decreasing, I don't think we would even live to see the next week."

"Heh, we have killed ourselves once. Why think about it now?"

"Well, I just wanted to try it once, the so-called [being a protagonist who saves the world]."

"What are you talking about?"

"You're too old to know about those things women."

Crack! Irina started cracking her knuckles. Volock on the other hand just commented something like

"I didn't think you wouldn't have cracked your fingers in the morning."

Both of them sighed after this exchange. They both knew how unproductive this was.

A 15 or so years old girl was looking at herself in a mirror. She had a figure that made the girls beside her jealous, long hair that was died orange with a hint of pink but a pale complexion.

She had been trying to find things that interested her in this unknown place. The bicycle on which she started her journey was still with her but now there were some bags attached to it.

After being satisfied with her appearance, she took a book from one of the stores and started reading it after sitting on a nearby bench. She was not a big fan of reading but she didn't have anything else to do. Even surfing the internet was becoming boring.

Noticing that the internet of this place didn't consist of the recent time events but only the things that were uploaded, updated or written there 5 days ago or in the time before that, it had seriously become non-likeable.

"Should I kill myself again?"

While she was in a daze, she muttered this to herself. A smile was plastered on her face when she said that. Being aware of it, she started giggling.

Standing up from the bench, she went to a house that she had taken temporary residence in.

Thud! Just a sound remained, after the sound of her walking subsided.

Still trying to find a way for a [Status Menu] to appear the man even after getting off his scooter and observing the new spot, troubled the bar that was now making a static voice whenever he tried destroying it.

"You need to help me! Just make the status appear!"

Sylfaen was now scratching the bar with his nails and even pounding it with any materials he could find in the facility. The bar seemed as if it had stopped in time, as even with this extreme violence it stayed as it was. The man sighed.

"Ahhhh! Why did you make me get here then?"

He asked, but only got silence as his reply. While shaking his head he took out a phone he got from one of the houses and started taking the pictures of the bar from all sides.

"Oh, so you do appear in photos!" The man shook his head and took a deep breath while he saying " I feel dumb talking to myself." And massaged his glabella with one his hand.

Tapping the screen of the phone a few times, Sylfaen relaxed his body, laid on the floor and closed his eyes.
