Chapter 4: Amnesia
While her supposed twin went to look for the help, new Alex was given enough time to think and she thought of a simple way out. She couldn't act like the previous Alex Lin because there is a huge difference in their personalities. The old Alex unlike people thought never damaged her vocal chords. In fact, she was a perfectly normal girl who refused to talk. She was meek, gentle like that calm summer breeze. While, Ade the new Alex, was more like the sleeping tiger. Too much of a contrast.
Well, all those K-Dramas she watched paid off in the end she was going to borrow their best treasure 'amnesia'
The nurse entered the room without slowing her stride at all. Her warm hands grabbed Alexandra's arms to take her pulse. Her eyes were small, mean, bereft of any make-up and she smelt of detergent. She made a clicking noise with her tongue before pursing withered lips, finally hiding her yellow teeth and cutting off the smell of garlic.
"Is she okay?" Her supposed twin brother croaked impatiently by her side but before the nurse could reply she spoke directing her gaze to the duo "Who are you?"
The nurse's eyes went wide in shock before she stumbled out of the room. Her twin on the other hand stood frozen on the spot, his expression filled with anguish and misery. "I know we are siblings.." Alex started in attempt to comfort him. Seeing his pained expression, she felt her heart tightened in hurt. "Your twin, Xander Lin" he replied before sitting stiffly on her bed. Reaching forward he pulled her into his warm embrace, "I'm really sorry, I was supposed to protect you but ...."
"It's all my fault" he mumbled incoherently as he showered Alex in his warm tears. Alex felt giddy in his embrace. This could be considered her first hug since that night. Thinking of that cold night her eyes moistened in tears before they rained down.
The twins buried in each other's embrace sobbing was the sight that greeted the couple and the doctor in white coat. The middle aged couple ran towards their kids and hugged them tightly sobbing alongside the duo.
"What are you guys crying for?" Xander questioned sniffing
"I am crying because my babies are crying" their mother said with her puffed cheeks. Her black orbs glowed brightly. Her midnight black hair was packed up in a tight bun. She bite her red lips in indignation and asked her husband "Why are you crying?"
"I am crying because you are crying" his hoarse voice replied. The man dressed in a sky blue shirt, same colour as his irises, looked up to his wife with his expression screaming 'praise me'
"Pffft" a childish laughter was heard. Thinking it was from their son, Kelvin Lin, the kids father sent him a glare but the later shrugged feigning hurt.
"How dare you laugh at your father and lie! Who else can make such childish sounds?" Anna Lin shrieked. Everyone's sight fell on the figure in Xander's embrace and their eyes went wide in shock.
"She spoke! She spoke!" Anna screamed before fainting from shock.
Kelvin on the other hand caught his wife before she reached the ground before mumbling "I heard her..."
"Of course she can speak, I told you guys"
"Wow you guys didn't believe me" Xander accused his father. Meanwhile, Alexandra the heart of the storm was shocked at their intense reactions. 'Are they just overdramatic or was it that serious?'
The doctor who was the outsider in the whole scene could not believe his eyes. He was called to attend to one patient but now he has to attend to the whole Lin family. 'Was this a blessing or a curse?"

I just realized today that giving my characters long similar names is not a good idea. So to make it easy for myself and the readers I have decided
Alexander is Xander
But Alexandra remains Alex
