Synopsis
"If you can have the ability of any DND class, what would you choose?"
Yi Qiu replied, "Of course its the monk! His body looks good and he runs fast. He has poison and illness immunity, he can wipe out scum with his bare hands and in this Chinese society where weapons are controlled and food has many chemicals in it, he's perfect. Moreover, the bald head is a unique feature of a boss, bringing with him a +3 deterrence buff..."
Thus Yi Qiu really became a Monk...
This is the story of how a normal kid obtained the powers of a Monk, clearing dungeons when he had nothing to do and occasionally helping to uphold justice.

Write a reviewIf you have a passion and look for a book about dnd than i ask you to leave because as long as you are somewhat familiar with dnd and played some this book will make you cringe hard. 40 chapters in and i can say that translators knowledge about dnd is nonexistent, while authors could only be described as superficial at best. The book is set in modern Earth where MC often travels to different "virtual" dungeons to kill monsters and gain loot. The story is filled with videogame references and humour but is not excessive. The MC has normal view on life and stable personality. While overall it's not a top tier book it has it's own charm and good points so I recommend it to read for people interested in world-hopping genre.
Dumbo never heard of a sorcerer it seems, in the truest sense of the words those are the child of heavens or the devil or demon or fey depending on your bloodline. magic just comes to them and you really don't want to mess with a level 20 caster. also monks have alignments req, why be a goodie 2 **** when you can be chaotic evil or chaotic neutral. anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Translation seems to be fine. Book writing seems to be very *******ish, with rules and explanations all over the place. Book is written in chronological order but explanations for events and the “system” are unclear and explained at seemingly random times, usually in the form of garble. Story appears to be somewhere in between a comedy and a cultivation adventure novel with game elements, but it doesn’t really succeed with either and is neither funny or intuitive. Author has an addiction to using girl-related analogies to explain his feelings regarding certain topics. The actual reasons for events in question are poorly written and glossed over, story is not up to standard.
This is so all over the place that I'm confused if either the translation is LITERAL or the story really is supposed to be written like this...remember this is a translation not a original so I'd expect a decent writing especially since after chapter 40 it'll be locked....
The concept is novel with the MC being a monk for a game character. Fast paced, but the writing style is weird. The first chapter was basically information dump with no transition. However, the world building and stats show the effort of the Author. But give it a try, and see if it is right for you.
It's not too bad I've seen a lot better but I've also seen a lot worse the only problem is with so many bad reviews on not sure if enough people will open chapters with coins to keep this story going

Translation is eloquent, BUT the original author seems to be lazy with the story.... As a D&D player in 3.5e and 5e, I sometimes feel oddities within the writing. I became more interested in read the Ch. 60+ mtl versions until the story's end. The story based on WoW instance dungeon style with D&D 3.5e+Pathfinder+ part 5e class Monk growth, but eventually acts like a diary with mismatched temporal flow (saying if its been a month or some random day in Spring, but only a few days passed) and misplaced D&D system rules..... Even the irregularity with D&D rules or lack of explaining the network system by the original author... makes me feel cringed.... The original author of this D&D story seems to become lazy and does not add Status display updates or refer to vital items used by the Monk Yi Qiu such as the Hulk pants material (Ch. 65)... The physical descriptions are hazardously placed... (1) bald (2) below average Chinese citizen male physique in Southern China (3) Necessary monk muscles by Ch. 30+.... (4) Arms' appearance/anatomy...(Ch. 64, 120, 298, 363, 808)? SPOILER!: Eventually the original author gives up the player networking post-Ch. 766 [Yi Qiu Monk Lv20] even as early Ch. 407 and sends him on a random episodic exploration collecting storyline [NO MORE INSTANCES-DUNGEONS!! even rewards became food stuff]... Overall, I can see the translation displays the original author's experience in D&D since 3.5e, but the story lacks realism... How is Yi Qiu's status screen per level up?....!!!!! SIGH........!!!

Good novel but mc is not an actual dnd monk it just takes a bit of that foundation and mixes it with a fiction shop including cultivation manuals.

Pretty fun read, dnd, bit other stuff. Take it casual, at least theres no brain dead girls or young master. Need more time to tell, would definately prefer this over the other novels.
