Chapter 31: Reinforcement

Kael as well as the others felt relieved upon their entrance. Kael loosend up a bit as the soldiers came rushing towards them. They came from the cave, as well as the outer side of the camp. All three hundred in number. They were armed and ready to kill. Kael as well as the others ducked to the ground. Not wanting to join the mess of clashing enemies and allies.

"Retreat!" Shouted the Barbarian leader.

"Kill anyone who retreats. Leave no one alive!" shouted the commander who was wearing a silver-plated armor.

They clashed with them.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The Barbarian captain then approached the commander.

"Barmuth, reporting for duty!" he said as he kneeled.

"Carry on! Report!" he replied.

"The enemies are confirmed to be the bandits of the Farmus. With the help of the adventurers of Dwight, we located their hideout." he said while still on his knees.

"Thank you for your report! Let me handle this mess." he said to him.

The Bandit leader was cornered by three barbarian elites. They rapidly slashed him with their axes until he became a corpse.

The fight was still going on and the bandit leader was killed without a fight by barbarian elites. They finished fighting majestically.

'They fought like Spartans in Ancient Greece.' Kael said in his self.

Kael coughed when he realized he was a frog in the well. Not knowing the vastness of the ocean. He pondered in himself of his powerlessness. He cleaned the dust in his dress and approached the commander. The others also approached him while panting. Loosening up a bit then walked towards him. Their armors were battered and they were helping each other to walk. Kael went to him and greeted the commander.

"Thank you commander for saving us!" he said as he bows at him.

"We didn't save you, child! We're only apprehending the criminals that are attacking you, that's all! Men let's leave and burn this place. Confiscate their items because it belonged to the kingdom," he executed his order.

The enemies were disarmed and handcuffed by the soldiers and they made a line while being attached to a long chains. They confiscated their belongings in their tents while carrying in to a carriage nearby. Gold, silvers and jewelries were being put on the large chest and they also carried the crates on their stock room. Several carriages were easily stock piled and became full. Having finished looting, they grabbed torches and one by one burned the tents. Fire easily enveloped the tents and fire was all over the place. The camp burned and they all stared the fire while resting. The Barbarian captain approached them and talked to them.

"I'm sorry because you're not rewarded for your efforts. We will meet again sometime if you want. I will say my goodbye because I have to report to my officers. Well thanks for everything," he said to them as he runs to the marching army of the Farmus. He said goodbyes to them as he joined their ranks.

"Well, thanks for saving us!" shouted Fred.

"Goodbye, Sir," said Estes.

"Goodbye," said Kael while waving his hands.

"So, guys. What were we gonna do now?" asked Kael.

"Let's leave this stinking place," said Fred.

"Of course! Of course!" said Estes.

They left the cave and then went outside the mines.

They met with the others in the way.

"Andre! Emily! We missed you!" exclaimed Estes.

"How's it going?" Emily asked.

"We nearly died back there, ask Estes and the others.", he said to her.

"Luckily, we have Kael that rushes at us and giving potions," Fred said to Emily.

Fred and Estes grabbed Kael. Then put him between their armpits, squeezing him then pats his head.

"We were lucky that the reinforcement arrived before we were butchered to bits by that Barbarian bandit leader," Kael said to Emily.

"We should be heading back now, the merchant and the driver are waiting for us," said Andre.

"Yeah! We should go now!" added Emily.

They went to the carriage as well as the others. They traveled until they fell asleep due to exhaustion. Only Andre and Emily were still alive and kicking. The two of them couldn't find a way to sleep on their journey.

They completed the mission then head back to the borders. Exhausted and tired, Kael slept while it was still day time. Others too were helplessly sleeping like defenceless babes. The bumpy road was disturbing their sleep and thus they were waking up a bit. Even though it was bumpy, they still went back to sleep as fast as they woke up. While on the way, they didn't have any enemies left to kill. They were all killed in the past and it only resulted for them to have a peaceful road to pave through. Now that they passed through the wilderness, they arrived at the grape village they have passed through to resupply and bought grapes for snack. They were eating a whole crate while on the way and was satisfied eating a bunch.

Travelling on the mountains, they felt the chill of the wind. It was colder as it was afternoon, Kael can't help but sleep comfortably in the cozy carriage they have. The wind was colder as they were approaching the winter. It was expected that the wind to be colder as the winter season approaches. Kael was enveloped by a blanket by Emilda and she handed out more to the others. Time went past in the cold mountain and they were woken up by the coachman. They have woken up and the capital city was just in their sights.

They successfully returned to the Dwight Kingdom. The Kingdom that they belonged to and their homeland. They paved the city streets and they dropped on the adventurer guild headquarters. They went inside and saw the bustling hub of adventurers.

They received their rewards, which they deserved in the escort mission after they went to the adventurer guild.
