Chapter 148: Internship - 2
After informing Shun about the general rules as well as dos and don'ts Ryukyu asked him and nejire to suit up and go on a patrol around the area.
"She is the in charge?" asked Shun feeling a bit doubtful about being led by his airhead friend.
"Haha, she may not look like it, but she is good at patrols she will guide you well," said Ryukyu with a chuckle.
'Well if it's Nejire I don't think I will have any problems. It's easier to persuade her anyway.' thought Shun.
"Well, Nejire take care of me."
"Okay, you can count on me. Meet me on the ground floor after you are done changing," said Nejire as she walked out of the office.
"So, the changing rooms?"
"There is one at the end of every floor," informed Ryukyu as she looked at Shun for a while before she focused on her paperwork.
Shun nodded and walked out of the room and soon found the changing room.
After getting changed into his armor, Shun came down to the ground floor and waited for Nejire.
"Shun let's go! Woah, your armor is cool. It's red. Why did you choose red? Red is not your favorite color right?" asked Nejire.
"Thanks, you look great in your costume as well," said Shun as he looked at Nejire's costume from top to bottom.
Her skin-tight body suit made it difficult for Shun to look away from her.
Nejire just smiled at Shun's compliment and gave a twirl showing her costume to Shun.
Because of Shun's helmet, it was impossible to read Shun's expression but feeling his lingering gaze on her, Nejire got a bit embarrassed but was still happy.
"Let's go then," said Nejire as Shun gave a nod and followed Nejire.

"...So is it always this boring?" asked Shun.
"Hm? Well in a patrol we just walk around to see if someone needs help. If we are not needed then it means that the area that you are protecting us is safe." said Nejire as she waved her hand toward the kids who knew her and we're waving back at her.
"Well, that's good. Peace is always great," said Shun as he continued the patrol.
"Hm I agree," said Nejire as she gave a nod. She agreed with Shun about patrol being boring, but she was just enjoying her alone time with Shun, she worked very hard to get Ryukyu to allow her to lead Shun.
Unknown to those efforts Shun just talked to her without thinking much. Though he was a bit conscious of her since the time the two of them talked during the sports festival.
"-so after we are done with today's work want to visit that restaurant?" asked Nejire as she twirled her hair around her finger.
"Sure, sounds like a plan." replied Shun much to Nejire's happiness.
But all of a sudden two of them noticed a crowd gathering near a building which could either mean that there was a celebrity or someone was in trouble.
Not even thinking much Shun and Nejire took flight and rushed toward the building and saw what the problem was.
Three people were hanging from the terrace and by the looks of it were about to fall. One old man, one old lady, and a young lady.
"Nejire, grab the young lady I will get the oldies," said Shun to which Nejire nodded.
The two of them rushed at full speed as Shun came closer to them.
"Sir, Mam, let go," said Shun as he held the old man and lady by their waist. He could just teleport them, but there was no way he was going to show his teleportation to the public.
"O-Oh, thank yo-No please save our daughter first." said the old man as he looked at Shun.
"Don't worry my partner has got her as well," said Shun as he grabbed the old man and woman and showed them the girl who was being carried by Nejire and carried the two of them and placed them on the terrace.
Nejire did the same as the girl immediately rushed to the old lady's embrace.
Shun could guess that the three of them most probably were a family.
"T-Thank you, young man and miss."
The old man cried out in front of Shun and Nejire while thanking them. Shun on the other hand looked toward the entrance of the terrace where he could see a shadow.
"How did you three get into that situation? I don't think that you were trying to do a group suicide considering how grateful all of you are for us saving you."
The old man was about to say something but immediately Shun appeared in front of him and stopped a knife that came flying toward him.
"Tch"
Alarmed by the sudden attack Nejire gathered energy around her body.
"Who is there?" asked Nejire in a serious tone as a man wearing a trench coat appeared.
"Don't stick your nose in the matters of adults and kids. Get out of here while I am still playing nice." said the man in trench coat.
"Get them out of here Nejire," said Shun as he threw the knife back at the man.
The man looked at the knife coming toward him and just raised his hand as the knife stopped in front of his hand.
"Kids really don't know their places these days. Just because you have a costume doesn't make you a hero.
Shun just stared at the man and used appraisal at him.

'Might be a tricky opponent.' thought Shun as he immediately got alert. He had to protect the civilians and Nejire who were behind him and was a bit restricted because of that.
Not wasting any more time Shun pointed his hands toward the man and fired kinetic energy blasts at him.
The man opened his trench coat a large number of knives hanging inside it appeared.
The knives flew out of the trench coat and attacked the kinetic energy blasts, and the two canceled each other out.
'Confusion clear he cannot control my energy blasts' thought, Shun. He purposely fired a weak blast to check if the man could use telekinesis in his energy or not and now that his doubt was clear.
Energy charged around Shun's palms as he fired a much stronger blast at the man who fired the knives once again, but this time the knives were pushed back and thrown back.
"Now go!" yelled Shun as Nejire nodded and gestured for the family to rush as well.
The man dodged the energy blasts and looked toward the family or more specifically at the man and fired his knives at him.
Nejire who saw those knives used her energy to blast at them and pushed them away just like Shun did as she stood in front of the entrance and let the family run downstairs.
"Tch, fucking kids!"
Cursing Nejire and Shun who were now surrounding him the man just glared at them as he rushed towards Nejire.
Seeing that Nejire got ready to attack, but soon felt her body being pulled by an invisible force.
Shun notice that as well and rushed toward the man as the man fired his knives at him.
But Shun just ignored the knives that fell after hitting his armor.
Getting a bit surprised, the man used telekinesis on Shun and threw him back.
"Don't follow me or the girl dies!!!" yelled the man as Nejire floated near the man with knives around her neck.
The man didn't check on Shun and rushed downstairs with Nejire who wasn't the least bit panicked.
But as soon as he arrived at a floor below the terrace he saw Shun standing in front of him with a charged energy blast in his hand.
"Don't think lightly of my airhead partner, you will regret it," said Shun as spiral energy gathered around Nejire that she let out freely sending the knives and the man flying.
Shun looked at the man who was flying towards him, grabbed his collar, and slammed him to the ground.
"And how dare you use Nejire as a hostage against me!" said Shun in a cold tone as he slammed the charged energy blast into the man's abdomen causing a strong explosion knocking the air out of the man and making him lose consciousness.
Looking down at the man who was knocked out Shun used customize create to extract some concrete from the floor and used it to restrain the man's hands and legs.
"Nicely done Shun."
Turning towards the girl who called him, Shun just smiled as he high-fived her.
"Good job Nejire."
"Hehe, but seriously the coordination that we practiced while playing around worked really well."
Shun gave a nod as he called the police informing them about the assailant.
