Chapter 14: Chapter 14. Help from the Spring Goddess.
Patience was not the virtue little princess of Green Forest was born with, in mere two days she started to break. Waiting around for what? She thought the Second Prince was unconsidered to left her here without any news or message or even a little indication of their plan work. How she was supposed to know how long it will take for Crown Prince to earn her aunt's heart back if she goes before that nobody will spare her in her family, since she broke a major rule but living with uncertainty. She bit down on her lower lip sitting by the white lotus pond.
"Aiya! Heavens please help me!" She looks up in the sky, groaning in frustration.
"Who is screaming for help here?" A woman in a pale pink robe with silver flower prints, enter the courtyard her dark brown hairs were tied up below the crown of her head in a simple but elegant hairstyle and is adorned with little white and pink flowers, she had a pearl-like complexion. She is so pretty, Hong Liu thought.
The woman walked towards the pond and her dark brown eyes fall on the girl on the red robe sitting on the steps of the private white lotus pond of The First Lord, her first thought was how the little girl in blood-red robes and equally vibrant lotus mark on her forehead was doing here, nobody come here this place is always deserted because this particular Lotus pond is forbidden to anybody, well she shouldn't be here either. It was in her nature to not follow the rules but even she didn't dare to defy the First Lord but she heard the cry of this young girl and she couldn't resist.
"What a pretty flower-like you are doing here? who are you?" She asked her sweetly.
Hong Liu looks up at the pretty lady, her lips pressed in an adorable scowl.
"I am Princess of Green Forest Bai Hong Liu, Who are you?"
"I am the goddess of spring, Hua Shen," She answered beaming at her. So she the little red fairy who broke into the heavenly court a months ago and challenge the dragon clan justice for the mortal wife of Crown Prince who was actually the Queen of East Lands of Green Forest but what she is doing here? In the palace of the First Lord no less, curiosity was one of her prominent quality and the most dangerous one as well.
"So you are the Princess of Green Forest?" She sat beside Hong Liu.
Hong Liu nodded.
"What a rare sight? But aren't you scared what if someone finds you here? Does The First Lord knows you are hiding in his palace?" She raises her eyebrow. She meant to tease her by saying that.
"Of course, he knows I am here. How can be in someone palace without his knowing about it? He took me in as a refuge," Hong Liu let out a sad sigh.
"Refuge?"
"Yes...but...but why should I tell you this? You are a stranger! Not mention from Nine Heavens and my experience with Nine heavens has not been well until now. That stupid Second Prince left me here to fend on my own!" She mutters angrily then she realizes what she said and her cheeks flushed, looking at Hua Shen sheepishly worried that she offends her.
"Huan Ling? How come you know him," the little princess of getting interesting by the second now she understands why whole nine heavens are so fascinated by her, it not about her vibrant birthmark or even about her unique magnificent wings that she only heard about. It's her personality, her vibrant life. It is not something you don't see in nine heavens.
Hong Liu stayed silent still having her reservation about telling her story and exposing the second prince to complete stranger. Hua Shen sense this quick.
"Don't worry, little lotus, I am second Prince Huang Ling's friend if you need me to send a message or.....?" She tempted her.
"Of course! why didn't I thought of that?!" Hong Liu sprang to her feet as realization struck her and she slapped her forehead.
"Message! Message! why am I sitting here like a fool I can send a magical missive to Hight God Ren! He might not able to help me in front of my parents, but he will definitely tell me when is the right time to come back!" She rolled her eyes at herself.
Hua Shen look at Hong Liu as she ran across the courtyard, there might be invisible wings on her feet too, she was fast but she turns back when she reached the door.
"Gratitude to High Goddess Hua Shen for solving Hong Liu's problem," She bowed and turn.
'I was just fishing for gossip but glad I could help' Hua Shen thought.
Hong Liu turns to the door so swiftly that made her collide with a wall, or it felt like one. She yelp and rubs her assaulted nose, when she saw that the fall was actually white-robed chest of someone, the scent of sandalwood enter her nose. She nervously raises her eyes to the stone face of the First Lord.
