Chapter 37: Go and Destroy Your Enemy

Ye Shin and Emperor He Mo added the elder's son to join them as they carry on with their journey. The wounds of the man were healed by the inner force of Ye Shin. They have managed to buy another horse in the Empire of Hong for him to mount.

"Your son is now alive, I can transfer your legacy to him. After all, your own blood should carry the fruit of your hardwork!" Ye Shin told the elder's soul but she only heard a slight snort from him. The elder is expressing indignation towards her idea of giving his legacy to his son!

"Lady, you are stuck with me." the soul of the elder sounded in a bored tone.

The elder is not willing to leave his new host for few reasons. First, he had felt the limitless amount of strength from the lady. Second, the inner force of her provides him vitality. Lastly, his son may be targeted by others if he has his unparalleled legacy! This means, the lady is used to protect his son!

Ye Shin did not think too much of this reasons. The legacy of the elder is also beneficial to her. After all, she is the emperor's bodyguard. The many hidden cards she has, the more efficient she is on her duty.

While the three figures are on their journey, dark clouds have also started roaming on their destination. The acting ruler while Emperor He Mo is away was accused of incompetence by majority of the ministers! A lot of critics and dissatisfaction are spreading in the capital of the empire.

Qing Empire Palace

"This is the best time for us to besiege the Empire of He. Our spy has confirmed that the young emperor is away. The man governing the empire is the husband of our second princess. We can strike anytime now!" the brother of Qing Emperor suggested, his voice sounded vibrant and optimistic.

"Here is the token for Qing Elite Army. Lead them to the Qing Empire and bring home the bacon!" the Qing Emperor ordered while handing a black token to his brother.

"I will!" the man replied with full of enthusiasm before he left in haste.

The soldiers from Qing Elite Army were soon gathered by the Qing Emperor's brother. Thousands of horses are running at full speed with soldiers wearing heavy armor riding on it. They are all heading towards the Empire of He.

It took them one day to arrive at the border entrance of the He Empire. When the soldiers of He Empire who are guarding their border gate saw the approaching enemy, they immediately closed it. A message was quickly sent towards the Palace of He. An enormous bell rang across the whole territory informing the people that there is an emergency!

This large bell has never ringed for a long time that when it sounded across the empire, the present generation was at first, confused! Only the elders of the family were gravely ashen upon hearing the horrifying sound. A calamity is about to fall!

The emotional state of He Lan could not be described upon receiving the letter about the emergency in their border entrance. The Qing Empire is attacking! He stared at the letter for a while before crumpling the paper until his hand could no long crushed it.

He felt his anger is building up towards the Qing Empire. There is also panic in his heart for he might turn down the expectations of his brother on his capabilities. He Lan exhaled in frustration.

"My brother's shadow, come!" He Lan called and two men appeared in front of him.

"Where are the others?" He Lan asked when there are only two shadows who responded on his call.

"Don't worry third prince, the other shadows are on their way to intercept the enemies in our border entrance. Master He Ling had also left to look for Emperor He Mo and the lady." one of the two shadows responded in a polite tone.

"Then why are you still here? Shouldn't you assist on our border entrance?" He Lan asked them. Somehow, he noticed that the panic feeling was lessening because of the initiatives from his brother's shadows.

"We are here to secure your safety, third prince. There is nothing to fear, Emperor He Mo may have been on his way here." the other shadows responded giving him an assurance that everything will be fine.

At this point, the Qing Elite Army has completely surrounded the border of He Empire. They are trying to pass the entrance gate by force. While they started destroying the big wooden gate, the soldiers of He Empire are also assembling in front and started to stop the enemies by shooting their own arrows.

Time drags until it was almost evening. The entrance gate of the He Empire is almost losing its foundation. Another pushed from the bloodthirsty soldiers of Qing Empire and the wooden gate finally gave up.

The Qing soldiers completely entered the territories of the He Empire. Their comrades at the back were shouting out of joy as they successfully destroyed the wooden gate. But soon after, the triumph they felt was replaced with wails from those in the frontier. The moment a Qing soldier enters, the shadows of emperor He Mo are already waiting to kill them!

"What is happening?" Some soldiers of Qing exclaimed when they heard one of their men shrieked in agony. Soon after they discovered that all his limbs were dismembered mysteriously. A disastrous and gruesome scene is actually waiting for them whenever they go across the territory of the kingdom of He.

Those Qing soldiers who are in front experienced the most violent nightmare they could ever experience. One after another, each limb was cut except for their head. Only the torso and the head remained connected, allowing them to feel the pain of losing their hands, arms, ankle and legs.

"Advance!" one of them shouted and reignited their battle spirit. Thunderous footsteps of their horse echoed within as they bravely enter. The shadows of Emperor He Mo where soon outnumbered when countless of the Qing Soldiers entered at once.

Some of them managed to go few miles away from the entrance and are now heading to the capital. They seem to be unstoppable because of their numbers! But right before they could reach the capital, four figures were already blocking their way.

It was the Emperor of He! His shadow, He Ling is on his left side and they saw a woman on his right side. At the back is another man, it was the elder's son!

"Mister, I owe you with my life, allow me to help you." the emperor heard the elder's son said from behind as the Qing soldiers were approaching.

"Oh? What do you plan?" the young emperor asked without looking at him.

"I can use my soul legacy to these soldiers. I will execute Soul Possession and get all of them to come back to their master. By the time they arrived to their master, the things they are supposed to do here will be done to their master's instead." the elder's son explained.

Emperor He Mo was completely amused of such vicious idea the elder's son suggested. He pondered for a moment and glanced at his right side. Ye Shin was looking on the ground with no trace of emotions. A small curve has slightly appears in his lips before he draw his decision.

"Alright! Do what you just said." The young emperor stated and almost immediately tremendous and prolonged cry out of surprise can be heard from the approaching Qing soldiers. Their horse abruptly stopped running while their eyes went straight in a manner exhibiting that they have been completely possessed. They looked at the emperor's direction with dead eyes before the defeaning silence took place.

"Go and destroy your enemy." the elder's son shouted.

The Qing army offered a salute to the four figures before they went back to their tracks. Even the Qing Emperor's brother was also possessed and is in fact leading their way back to their empire! Their horses are now abnormally running faster than before. And then the bloodthirsty soldiers were soon gone on their sight.

He Ling, the most trusted shadow of Emperor He Mo was shocked by the unprecedented thing he just witnessed. It had almost taken his ability to speak!

"Your majesty, this man... " He Ling trailed while looking at the person behind them.

"He is a Soul Practitioner from the Empire of Ma. He can possess a person's body." the emperor's introduction even baffled his shadow.

"The Empire of Ma! How did you meet a person from the far away empire of Region A, your majesty?" He Ling exclaimed as his eyes twinkled at the man standing behind.

"It was him who met us on our way back here." the young emperor answered while meaningfully glancing to the lady at his right side. The scene of him and Ye Shin, sharing an intimate kiss from before immediately prompt on his thoughts.

"He Ling, go check the entrance and do all the necessaries. Compensate those soldiers who are injured." the young emperor calmly instructed after a moment of silent enveloped them.

"Yes, your majesty." He Ling said and left.

"Let's go." The emperor looked at Ye Shin then gently grabbed her wrist. He turned his back holding her, while the elder's son followed them silently as they entered at the capital.
