Chapter 17: A BEAUTIFUL MELODY

CALESIE'S POINT OF VIEW ( POV )

"Calesie, see you later," Deyro said, then he left he was with some student,

The class just ended, and like what Deyro told me in his letter, I have to go to the music room for the practice,

"See you later to where?" It was Hailey who asked, We are now putting the stuff that we used inside our bag,

"He said to meet him at the music room, we will practice there,"

"How come I didn't notice Deyro told you that?"

Because of Hailey's question, I showed her the paper plane that Deyro throws on my desk earlier

"Ooohhhhhh..."

"But I don't know where the music room is, do you know where that is?"

"Well..... like what I said, I only know a few places here at the university, so I don't know where the music room is and I have never been there, Maybe ask the professor they know the place for sure,"

"Is that so?"

"Sorry Calesie I have to go now it's already 3:39, I promised Aldrin to meet him at 4:00,"

I wondered who to ask about where the music room is since I think Deyro is busy, I can't ask him, the professor? hmm... maybe, but teachers are busy this day,

I wonder where Adeline is, Maybe I can ask her,

I left the classroom and searched for Adeline hoping that she will show me the way to where the music room is, or she can maybe give me directions, But where can I find her?

Maybe they are at the little house,

I went to the little house thinking that maybe Adeline and the others are there, but when I arrived, the house was locked, well it was just a wild guess anyway, that Adeline and the others are there since the class has ended,

I left the little house, I walked back to where I come from earlier and let my feet take me to somewhere while thinking, who can help me,

The university is so big, if I search every room in the building, it will take me ages to find it, I have no choice, I guess I'll have to ask the professor if he's busy then I will ask him to provide me a little time, If he gots angry then, I will prepare myself,

I walked through the outside of the building in the university, I can see many students walking in the hallway inside the building, they were happily talking to each other and laughing, The inside was lively but there was a place beside the building where there's no person at all, The place was dark and there's only one door,

I just ignored the place and continued walking going to the faculty room,

I was going to take another step when...

*PIANO PLAYING*

What a beautiful sound!

Where is that beautiful melody coming from?, It's so beautiful,

I followed the beautiful music, the music was so soothing and calming

While following the melody, I was led to the place that I am talking about earlier, the place where there's only one door, I was shocked because I didn't expect that this place will be the music room is,

The play continues, from the sound of how the melody is produced, I think the instrument was a piano,

I was about to open the door when suddenly...

the melody stopped.....

I went inside the music room and the first thing I did is to find the person who's playing the piano, But he's gone, he left already? but how? I didn't even notice that he left and besides this is the only door,

I saw a beautiful white piano in the center of the big room, no wonder there was only one door, since the whole place of the side of the building was only the music room, this place was like the size if the garden outside, Wide and beautiful,

I looked around the whole place, so amazed because of the unique instruments resting in the corner of the room, the whole room is beautiful and so bright it was like heaven to musicians like me,

I went to where the piano is, but wait, he left the piano open, there's a wallet on the chair too, I think he accidentally left the wallet,

I took the wallet and opened it, didn't mean to invade the owner's privacy nor it's not because I will steal his money but because I want to check if there's a picture of the oner inside so I can give it back,

But there was no picture and no money inside, the only thing inside the wallet is an old bracelet lace,

Since there was no identity inside the wallet I decided to put it back on the piano so that If the owner would come back for it he or she would see it,

Because the piano is like pulling me and like wanted me to play,

I sat on the chair where the piano is in front, the chair was long, so soft because of the thick cushion, My fingers were like so excited the piano was like seducing me to play it,

I took a deep breath and then gently touched the piano keys with my left hand first while my right hand was resting on my lap, I closed my eyes and then the weight of the tip of my finger made the sound do re mi fa so la ti do on the piano, I was so satisfied because of the beautiful and soft melody,

I was so excited I let my right hand to touched the keys too,

I started playing the piano this time I am using both of my hand, I let my fingers do what they want like I was just playing with the keys making a melody out of it,

I was having fun until.....

"Oh my Gosh, Where is it?" I worriedly asked whispering to myself, trying to find the pendant

My bracelet broke, I have to find it, I don't care about the lace but the pendant is missing, the pendant for me is more important

I tried searching for the pendant below the piano and the chairs but the pendant is not there,

"Where is it?" I whispered to myself

It's the only thing that I have from my real parents, I have to find it,

"Is this what you are looking for?" A man's voice asked I can't see his face yet because I am on the bottom of the piano's chair and the only thing that I can see is his black shoes,

"Calesie?" He called

"Deyro?"

"Yep,"

"Oh, It's you, I thought you were someone else"

"Someone else?"

"Yeah, There was someone else here earlier playing the piano, I thought you were that person,"

"Where is he?"

"I don't know, he left, I guess," I said,

I am still searching for the pendant, Where is it?

"Is this what you are looking for?", He asked and then showed me the pendant

"Yes! Oh my Gosh I thought I lost it, Thank you so much Deyro"

I thanked then immediately stand up to get the pendant, I was so happy,

"But what are you gonna do? The lace is broken, " He asked

"I don't know, maybe make lace for the pendant," I said, I tried putting the pendant in a pocket but my uniform doesn't have any, Why? Hailey's uniform has two pockets,

Where can I put it?

"How about use this one?"

He was offering me his gold necklace, it looks expensive how can I accept that?

"No, it's okay, "

"Are you sure? You will lose the pendant again,"

"Uhhhhhh...." I said still hesitating

"It's okay, Give me that," He took the pendant from me then put it on his gold necklace,

"Here," He said while giving the pendant back to me,

"Thank you,"

"You're welcome, It looks so important to you, Why? Where did you get it"

"Well, I don't know, but My Mom told me that I was wearing them when I was abandoned in front of her house, it becomes so important to me because I feel like whenever I am wearing it, I felt like someone is beside me, protecting and guiding me and I feel like its a lucky charm so I don't want to lose it," I explained then wear the necklace around my neck and looked at it again,

"What do you think is the meaning behind that in your pendant? It says there ƃ. ɔ," Deyro asked

"I don't know, I just guessed that maybe it's my Parents name, but only the Initials, "

I have been trying to think about what could be the meaning behind it, my mom told me that Calesie is not my real name, Was it my real name's initial? or my parents? it could also be an address or a code, whenever I looked at it, I am always asking if, Is it even the alphabet? it doesn't look any,

there are so many options of what it could be,

"Calesie is that your wallet?" Deyro saw the wallet on the piano,

"No, I just saw it when I came in, Maybe it belongs to the last person who played the piano,"

"Really? So how about we start with our practice?"

"Of course,"

We went to the piano and both sat on the chair, We know the melody since we wrote it down yesterday, I placed the sheets in front of us so that we can see what we are playing, and if it seems to be not in the rhythm or tone then we will change it,

Deyro played the piano while he was beside me, he was looking at the sheets that we wrote while playing, the melody was beautiful, I can't believe this is our own compose song, and we only did this yesterday,

I was so amazed by Deyro's hands because his hands were like a flash of light, his hand was fast but it was on point, I love how soft his fingers are when he touches the keys, his fingers were like the bird feather whenever the feather is falling,

*PIANO PLAYING*

The part that he is playing is supposed to have two people, and it will complete the melody, I helped myself and played the piano with Deyro, It became such a wonderful melody and I am letting my hands do what they want,

"Wow! Calesie! You are good at playing the piano" how can he do that? he's playing while talking,

"Well, When I was a kid we like to play this piece together...."

"HAHAHAHAHA...*ECHOES OF LAUGHING OF THE TWO GIRLS IN CALESIE'S HEAD*",

"We? Who are you playing it with?"

His question made me stop,

"I.....do-don't know....." I looked at my hands trembling while it was blurry, I was breathing hard while catching my breath, I was like

Suffocating

"Hahaha I love you, Cal....* UNKNOWN LITTLE GIRL'S VOICE INSIDE CALESIE'S MEMORIES*"

"Ahhh!!!!" I painfully shouted while holding into my head, It's painful, it was like I am being stabbed by knife inside my head many times,

It's her voice again,

"Hahaha, I love you little sister....* UNKNOWN LITTLE GIRL'S VOICE INSIDE CALESIE'S HEAD*"

"STOP!!!!" I shouted

I was furious

who am I talking about? inside my head, A piano was being played, there's a piano in my memories!

"Calesie! Are you okay?! You look pale and you are sweating a lot, "

"Calesie! Cal..." he sounds so worried but then his voice calling my name...
