I lay in the grass beside Dera panting after one of our much anticipated evening flights. She'd decided to get me to feel a rush of speed this time and ended up getting the both of us winded and exhausted. Nonetheless, emotions of excitement and contentment poured through from both sides of the bond we shared while we lay in the meadow.

It was one of those days when she tried her best to get my mind off the impending doom of our world and went all out in cheering me up. The nightmares were not easing up and this was the one time when I didn't display the effects that the darkness consuming Serif had on me. "I thought for a moment that you might fall off my back during that last one," Dera mused.
