Chapter 6: Chapter 6

I fished out the goggles and slipped it behind my ears as I balanced it on the bridge of my nose. Inhaling a few deep breaths I calmed myself, the situation won't come in my favour if I fright.

All I had to focus was on avoiding him, at all cost. Avoid him. I would be doomed if he finds out about me.

With one last deep breath, I pushed the door open darting down the corridor. I was confident that he wouldn't be able to catch me, I mean not so confident but close to it. No one was around, I took this as my opportunity and quickened my steps.

Diverting my thoughts, I concentrated on myself, I must be looking good with the black goggles, the colour was matching with my black crop top contrasting with white jeggings. I didn't have many formal dresses to wear for any upcoming formal occasions, but even the thought of stepping out of the house scared me.

I hope I knew well that I don't have anything to fear as long as I didn't touch the werewolf. My eyes were taken care of, I made sure to cover my scent in the morning itself, apparently, it lasts only eight hours and I had enough time to escape without being suspicious. And for my deep down hidden anxiety-I had to handle it myself somehow.

I upreared my eyes to see the principal welcoming the buff looking man as they walked towards my direction in the corridor. I didn't even have to trouble myself in finding my doom as I instantly recognized the man in the royal blue suit. His stoic face was scary and authority melting around him had me almost dip my head down in respect.

He was the one and only Alpha head aka Lucas Anderson.

His honey eyes stared ahead, not even once looking at me. His sharp jaw in a tight grip as the distance between us reduced. He looked exactly like the images spoke on the Internet. Beautiful. Too sad, I didn't want to belong to him even though my fate has chosen him for me.

He didn't recognize me yet or maybe he didn't pay heed to waste his time trying to detect my scent, which wasn't even there in the air. A relief to my soul for a moment.

My anxiousness started to resurface again when I inhaled his scent, he smelled nice like the frankincense, so.... good. It only increased as we neared each other, I ducked my head down a bit trying to hide away from him. I felt a weird sensation in my stomach like the first time you realize you have a crush on someone, closing my eyes tight, I prayed to God not to reveal myself ever to this man, even though I didn't wanna admit, but then he was my mate.

Alpha Lucas was my mate.

Just as we were about to pass each other our great principal stopped me in my tracks. I froze, cursing random in my mind I turned myself towards them. Chanting nos in my head.

"Heaven, you're leaving already?"

"I-I....yeah, I have a lot of work to do." I looked at Alpha Lucas as his eyes narrowed very slightly in confusion. I just hoped my voice didn't sound like a song to him or whatever those beasts called it.

I gulped looking into his honey eyes, my heart continued beating in rapid pace as I felt myself melting under his gaze even though the certain something which people refer to as sparks weren't reaching my eyes due to these goggles. But it felt like he knew something was fishy. I mean everything was fishy, but I couldn't help but pray to the gracious God above.

I tore my eyes from him when Mr D'Arco introduced us to each other. "Heaven, meet our Alpha head Lucas Anderson and Alpha Lucas she is our management head of our school, Heaven Blaine."

Alpha Lucas wore a benign smile at the mention of my name as he forwarded his hand for me to shake. "It's nice meeting you, Ms Blaine."

My eyes shifted from him to his hand. I could not shake his hand, it would give him away that I was his mate and if I didn't, that would be very rude of me.

Skylar was right again, no matter how much you try to run away from your mate, fate will always pull you in front of each other.

"Um...my hands are sweaty, it wouldn't be nice if we shake. I'm sorry, " I fibbed, slowly guiding my limbs behind me. Alpha Lucas noticed it with a small smile and brought his hand back to its initial place.

He said, "It's alright."

"Alright then Heaven, make sure you reach home safely, Okay?" Mr D'Arco said, pulling me away from my awkward box.

I nodded as he began walking ahead asking Alpha Lucas to follow him. He gave me one last dubious glance, his eyes sparkling in curiosity before leaving to follow him.

I released a heavy sigh haven't discerned that I had unexpectedly held it. Well damn, it was close.

"Oh. My. God." Skylar gaped as she switched her position from across me to sit beside me.

We were sitting down at the corner table in the restaurant, having lunch as I unfolded the truth about the encounter with the Alpha Lucas. Who happened to be her Alpha too.

"I can't believe it." She was stunned as she grasped my shoulder and turned me swiftly to face her. "You found your mate."

She looked around as she took a moment to analyse the whole situation. "It hasn't even been twenty-four hours and you already..."

"This is just the starters, you have no idea what's in the main course," I huffed leaning against my chair, slackening under the cool air of the air conditioner.

"Who is your mate?"

"You won't believe it, you cannot even imagine."

She frowned, lowering her voice she said, "Is it a rouge?"

I shook my head.

"A strong werewolf from another country?"

I repeated the previous action again as she looked down at our empty plates, carefully thinking about other possibilities. "A lesbian?"

I clouted her shoulder as she winced in pain rubbing the area.

"Can't you think of something better?"

"You tell me then, cause I have no idea who the hell he is?"

"It's your pack's Alpha Lucas Anderson."

She blinked repeatedly, shaking her head with my unanticipated words.

Well, I did tell her she won't believe it.

She gasped looking at me, her jaw hitting the floor beneath. I wasn't surprised to see her reaction because I knew I was expecting it. Who would have thought my mate would be Alpha Lucas, the head Alpha of all the Alphas in the country.

"You sure there was no other werewolf around?"

I sighed. "It's an empty fucking school. Who else would be there except for him? His Delta tagged along later by the time I got to know."

She bit her bottom lip, my abrupt information under processing in her brain. "That means you are my Alpha female. You were right under my nose all this time!"

I pressed my hand on her mouth as she tried to pull away. I gritted my teeth as I said, "Want me to bring a microphone for you?"

She bit my palm as I shook the pain away, blowing soft air to the red area. "You know you can take the glasses off, I don't think he'll come here?"

"I can't trust my future. I have to be cautious all the time."

She murmured to herself, "What am I going to do with you?"

"Just support me."

She faced me, opening her mouth for whatever punch she had for me, but was cut short when we heard someone clearing their throat. It was a man, a young man to be exact.

We turned to look at him who had a genuine smile on his face. He was cute with blonde fringe and blue eyes. Very good looking. He bowed down to us. "Good evening, Female Beta."

Skylar let out a nervous smile. "Good evening, Jackson. Want me to help you with something?"

He hesitantly glanced at her then back to me as he spoke to me, "I'm sorry for the intrusion, but would you mind removing your glasses?"

Skylar then gave me a knowing smirk, telling me silently to oblige him. "Y-yeah, alright."

I took off my black glasses before moving my light brown orbs to look in his blue ones. It was simple eye contact, there was nothing I felt in my body. But his eyes looked sad as his smile reciprocated his emotion. "Thank you, but you're not the one I'm looking for, although, I wanted it to be you."

He bowed down to Skylar again before walking back to the group of boys in the middle.

"I feel bad for him."

"You'll get used to it."
