Katherine had already slept on their way to the port so there she laid in her cabin wide awake, in deep thought. She had spent the night going over the words Lucian had spoken to her, his words rang consistently in her head.

Katherine gripped her pillow tightly as she wondered how Lucian was able to give her such a choice, especially knowing that supernatural beings only had one mate, he had given her a choice despite what it would mean for him.
