Chapter 9: Chapter 8
The first battle of the exam has ended, with Adir's team taking the victory. This doesn't mean that their win ends with Alex and Butch being unable to pass. It all depends on what the examiners decide. We look on as Mr. Otto enters a small recovery room with the first two teams in it. Inside, Otto glances in to see a doctor with brown hair traced with apricot. He looked fairly tall, and held a very stern and stoic look on his face. His position was no desirable place to be in, medical magic is rare, and as a result, most of the medics are forced into working long hours with an understaffed crew.
"Are you here to see the boy? If so then you can leave. He needs rest, you may talk to him later." The doctor says to Mr. Otto, dismissing him immediately
"Dr. Dozca, let him in, if he's here to see me, then it would be rude to make him leave before even coming in." Adir says abruptly
The doctor lets out a tiring sigh, and does a motion with his hand that signals Mr. Otto to come all the way inside the small and white hospital room. The old man smiles at Adir and talks to him.
"Young Adir, are you okay? That fight you had was an amazing one, you unlocked the 1st stage of Lucifer's power in less than a week.... That's nothing short of incredible! Not just you, but everyone involved in that fight showed off amazing abilities, with Alex demonstrating some great combative thinking, and Butch giving us a surprise with his magic aura!" Otto says to Adir
"Thank you sir, I didn't think that battle was going to turn out that way if I'm being honest with you. I heard that you were the leader of the demon group, is that correct?" Adir asks
Mr. Otto nods his head, agreeing with Adir, telling him to continue. Before Adir finishes his sentence, Otto's Walkie-Talkie goes off and tells him that the next battle is about to start and he is needed before it starts.
"I apologize Adir, you and I can continue this conversation after the exam is finished, but before I go, I thought I'd tell you that everyone in both teams is going to pass,so rest easy and we can talk later. Goodbye for now." Mr. Otto says as he leaves the room with a big grin on his face
That kid… I wonder what he wants to talk about.. Mr. Otto thinks in his head
Mr. Otto walks back to the arena where mr. Spark is and he gathers up the remaining contestants.
"Now, the next part of the exam will begin, with team 3 of Jake and Laura vs. team 4 with Retz and Cole!" Otto announces
The two teams enter the arena and get into their stances. Once Otto see's that they're all ready he counts down, and once he reaches one they begin. THe fight is pretty normal considering the fight they had before, with team 3 seeming to use much more teamwork then the other team.
"Laura! Are you ready? Let's use our own magic and blow them away!" Jake yells to Laura
"Yeah! Let's do it honey! Our magic is love, and it can't be stopped!" Laura shouts back
Everyone in the arena looks at them with a half embarrassed look, with Mr. Otto looking surprised.
"Most of these people think that they're just playing around… But I don't think they are.. Love magic does exist, with the main problem being finding two people who are willing to use it, because it not only requires two bodies in order to be used, they also need to have a strong relationship, with the magic growing stronger with their emotions. With time and effort, Love magic can be extremely powerful, rivaling advanced magics." Otto speaks to Spark
" Ah okay, I've never heard of this magic before.. I guess Adir's group isn't the only one with interesting magic." Spark chuckles
The fight continues, with Retz and Cole barely able to keep up with the other team's magic. A woman on the other side of the warehouse watches the fight and chuckles,
"Love magic.. I need it.." The hidden lady whispers to herself, with her eyes glowing into hearts
Team 3's love magic takes place in pink strings that connect them together, the pink strings of magic are manipulated by the two and they quickly knock the other team out, resulting in their victory.
"See honey? Our love is truly unstoppable!" Jake says to Laura
"Mhm! No one can stop us, not when we're together!" Laura responds
The couple leaves the arena in victory, leaving most of the people watching their fight in awe. In the hallway leading from the hospital room to the arena, Adir walks out and he approaches Mr. Otto and Mr. Spark.
" Hm? You're already up and about Mr. Elpida? Well if you're able to walk, I presume that you're okay." Otto says
" Hehe, this boy is real tough isn't he? He'll make a wonderful asset!" Spark says jokingly
Adir ignores Sparks' antics and begins to talk to Otto.
"I have a few questions that I need to ask you, would you answer them for me?" Adir asks
"Well it depends on the question, but I'll try and answer them." Otto responds
" I know that you guys don't have much information on my sister, but I wanna know if I can pick someone from this exam to join the Gatekeepers." Adir says
"Oh? Did someone here catch your eye? Well if we can approve of them, then sure." Otto answers
"I would like Harry Waser to join the gatekeepers. I believe that with training and the extra power given from Lucifer's seal would make him a lot stronger-" Adir says but Otto interrupts him
" Say no more young man, if you want him to join the gatekeepers then I approve." Otto responds
Mr. Spark has a grin on his face, and looks onto the arena.
" Hehe.. Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but it seems that the last fight is about to begin.." Spark says
