Chapter 4: It's blue!

After a short while, who remained in the iceberg had been melted or broken out, since more people contributed into freeing their tribe.

Another thing that has put the strong enemy into shame, is the fact that the iceberg itself didn't kill anyone.

Sure the torture of being surrounded by heavily cold temperatures was hard to handle, but it didn't kill anyone.

The fact that these people haven't eaten anything in 4 weeks, enhanced that shame bestowed upon that dead enemy. Because even as hungry and tired people, they proved superior against masses they were uninformed towards.

As a chief, Zabal had to juggle the most responsibilities throughout this disaster. Telling everyone what to do was the lightest task, but he also had to stop melting people out for the sake of keeping others alive.

That man who lost an arm for example, regardless of the blood loss, he was still standing. And to keep that tough soldier alive, the wound had to be sealed.

Thankfully Zabal had a few decades of experience when it comes to healing with the pure aid of lava.

The complexion of this move had two keys, stopping the blood and keeping the victim away from more wounds in the process.

He had to blow a handful of lava on that man's arm socket, shoved cloth in his mouth because the pressure can make one break their teeth.

And after the lava sunk in an inch deep, Zabal slapped the snow near him and the lava dried out in just a blink of an eye.

Once the lava dried out, he picked off the biggest pieces of volcanic rock by hand and let the smaller ones stay there.

This will stop blood from puking out, which only aided to keep this man alive, it won't reduce the pain but it wasn't easy losing a whole god damn arm.

Zabal healed that man's wound, dragged him near the lava pool that was keeping everyone warm and immediately got back to the iceberg.

Thankfully his absence didn't stop the progress as there already were people breaking the ice with their bare hands and feet. So once he returned, it only took a while to free everyone.

"Chief I see a weird animal!" Alkin alarmed, thankfully he picked up the pace quickly after being melted out of the ice.

After half an hour of warming up he started taking patrol for the sake of his people. And now as they heard, he reported something.

This continent wasn't nearly the haven they expected, but it doesn't mean they should wait for death here.

"Be more specific." The chief yelled back lightly, took one peek at him, spotted the man standing about 30 meters away.

Not quite sure how to express himself, Alkin the magician added after. "It's a bird and it's like, blue."

"Blue birds shouldn't confuse you Alkin." The grand master yelled back while having a thin layer of lava poured on a tribeswoman's cut.

"You don't understand, they are huge!" Alkin yelled once more and demanded, "Come here!"

At that same second, Anakin ran back to the tribe and a good portion saw a weird bird following him, having the snow captivated by each step once poking it's head out of the close by small hill.

What ran in, seemed to be a big nasty eagle, it's beak signified that golden characteristic.

The blue bastard stood a quarter taller than those weird super white skinned people, and occupied double their width!

To make it more bizarre, this eagle was covered in dark blue feathers as pointed out by Alkin a little bit earlier.

As for further detail, only it's head and the edges of its wings seemed to be covered in a completely dark shade, beautifully dangerous.

Having a better glance of this tribe comprehended, the weird eagle stopped on its spot, spread its wings wide and revealed a truly massive size!

With it's wingspan spread, the bird now appeared 6 meters long, absolutely massive.

"Battle formations!" Quabin the master yelled, wanting to make sure that the tribesmen closest to the bird, don't get attacked.

And so, the men swiftly stood up straight through that split second and stretched their arms forward, ready to punch the shit out of this eagle if it got too close.

Out of a sudden, something high pitched captivated their sense of hearing and it's coming out of this crazy enhanced chicken or however one would dare to call it.

The blue eagle unleashed an extraordinarily loud shout, that just after a few seconds, Zabal could barely hear anything even after the bird yelled once more.

Unwilling to go deaf because of this crazy animal, Zabal leaped forward amongst the tribe and faced the bird.

Well a good 10 meter distance still stood between them, but this is the closest he wanted to get.

Unwilling to figure out what would happen if this bastard attacked anyone, the grand master synced into a sumo squat to grant the lava more speed and stretched his right arm forward.

Upon doing so, a short tailed lava blast that stretched 5 feet wide, walled through the air and impacted against the yelling eagle.

The lava managed to hit everything but the eagle's wings and claws, yet that doesn't quite matter as the caused damage was effective enough, this beast can't fly away now.

Sizzling through the weird bird's feathers, the lava pinned the beast down and coated the ground with a circle of lava.

The boosted speed granted by the sumo squat, can be impactful enough to dig a few inches against skin. That considered, the chances of survival were little to none.

Turning around, he gazed at Alkin and expressed. "Good looking out my boy, if this thing attacked us we could have lost another friend."

"I'll be on the lookout chief, we don't need more of our own to die." The magician [Alkin] answered, afterwards walked around the dead eagle and made for his past patrol spot.

Gazing upon a healthy lady that goes by the name of Kashama, the grand master requested. "Can you clean and cook that bird please? We haven't eaten in 4 weeks and it seemed big enough to feed us all."

"Okay chief." Kashama answered and made for the dead eagle, having careful steps around the lava although it did feel nice around her freezing feet. They are walking around bear footed here so it tends to get difficult.

As for the rest, they were busy dropping all those enemy bodies in the ditch, it felt sickening to move around scorched corpses but there is no sympathy for attackers.

With all of the deadly wounds this tribe received, good as healed, Zabal made for the 200 foot deep and 30 feet wide ditch and questioned a lady there. "Is that all of them?"

"Yes, a few corpses were better off untouched. The lava burned them too much." The lady expressed and Zabal didn't feel an urge to contradict their decisions, ain't nobody wanna touch skeletons.

Gazing at the ditch, the numbers felt uncomfortable. Seeing bodies on top of bodies will never be something this grand master will be able to forget. If he had ate anything, puking out his food would have been the inevitable.

"It's time to melt them all before the smell attracts predators." Zabal murmured and that got the lady tad confused.

Immediately, she decided to put her concern into word. "But the tunnel... won't lava block it?"

Having this partially thought out, he weighed in. "Our continent is no haven, why would we want to go back there? We have to seek the haven here, this place looks huge so maybe we should explore it before making hasty decisions."

Muttering over it, she added. "I guess you have a point, but this place is worse than home."

Having that fact ignored, Zabal took a firmer grip against ground with his feet and unleashed lava from both of his palms.

Filling the bottom portion of this hole with lava can take a little while so he wanted to be careful with stamina. The amount of lava he used today was tremendous and knocking himself out can put the whole tribe at risk.

A moment later, they sensed the foul smell of boiling human flesh, it gave the whole atmosphere a sour aura and the tribe moved a bit further from the ditch, taking comfort on the hill that stood just a few meters behind them.

This smell can attract a lot of predators but those super white human beings have to be taught a grand fact, attacking this Calidum Lutum tribe can put them in the same ditch.

Feeling a bit dizzy, for the sake of safety the grand master sat down and after saw Quabin approach with an announcement. "The 3 bodies are ready for their funeral, do you think we can start it?"

Gazing upon the ditch, by now adapted to the foul smell, Zabal answered. "I'm always ready for my tribe... but the prophecy, was it wrong?"
