Chapter 44: Deadly Gorgeous
"Oh god, here another deadly gorgeous one. Ru Wen I think I've died and gone to the heaven." I frowned at her and lightly smacked her on the arm.
Mu Kai stood there holding the curtain in his hand.
"Wen Wen, what's happened?" He walked over to me and put his hand on my head.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
I looked at his face, he genuinely seemed worried. This kind look of him, I haven't seen before.
"Mr. Mu. Don't worry," I put my hand on his arm.
"I'm fine." I reassured him.
"So, you're the master Mu Kai?" Mei Lin tilted her head and asked.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Mu this is Mei Lin my best friend and Mei Lin this is Mr. Mu Kai." I introduced them.
"Nice to finally meet you Miss Mei Lin, I've heard a lot about you."
Mei Lin smiled shyly.
"I've heard a lot about you to. Just call Mei Lin."
As a fire flames was covered my face as Mu Kai responded.
"Is that so?" He asked Mei Lin as his eyes stared at me.
Just before Mei Lin could embarrass me any further, Dr. Ma walked in with a small silver tray.
"Let's get that nasty cut sewn up and I promise to stitch it well so the scar will barely be noticeable, at all." Dr. Ma said.
Mu Kai took my hand and started lightly rubbing it with his thumb.
Dr. Ma worked his magic and put four perfect stitches above my eye.
I should feel deadly pain, instead of it I only felt was the warmth from Mu Kai touch and the rapid heat beating of my heart as he softly stroked my hand.
"All good, now all perfectly finished Miss Ru. Oh, do you live with someone?" Dr. Ma asked.
"No, I live alone, why?" I questioned.
He cleared his throat.
"You will have to get someone to stay with you tonight, and you will need to be monitored for a concussion. Sometimes with head injuries, even minor cuts, a concussion can settle in after the brain and the trauma settle down. So I'm going to write you a prescription for some pain medication, take it only if you need to." He glanced over at Mei Lin and smiled as he spoke to me.
"Take care Miss Ru and call in if you have any questions." Dr. Ma said.
I thought Mei Lin was going to die as Dr. Ma walked out from the room.
"I'm staying with you tonight," Mei Lin said as she got up.
Mu Kai looked over at her volunteered.
"Sorry, Wen Wen will be staying with me tonight Mei Lin." Mu Kai claims the place.
Then she started to pout.
"Ah Wen, is that true? I thought we should have a girl's sleepover night?" Mei Lin pout.
I looked over at Mu Kai and then back at Mei Lin and could not believe these two were fighting over whom will staying with me.
