Stroph dealt with the Soaring Ghouls and flew directly toward Erza. He was no longer worried that they might be surrounded, since there weren't many monsters left. And after he helped Erza deal with her abusers, the number of the Soaring Ghouls would be quite small.

Stroph fought against four monsters at once, while Erza was attacked by five at once. Moreover, unlike safe and sound Stroph, Erza was wounded, and her fatigue was evident in her pale face.
