Chapter 25: Fu Jie is rich?

"Such a hypocrite!" It was Chen Qiao who had suddenly commented rather loudly and rudely.

Both Fu Jie and Senior sister Yao turned their heads in unison to look at the man.

Senior sister Yao, "Are you talking about me?"

"Of course not." Chen Qiao shook his head and looked at the person who was walking in front of them with his back turned to them, "All I did was try to help Xia Didi remove the mask but I was called out for bullying him and Senior sister Yao is so openly bullying him, yet, some people still don't care."

Senior sister Yao broke out laughing as she heard this, "Junior brother Chen, you are you and I am me. How can we compare?"

Fu Jie, "..."

Was this woman indirectly agreeing that she was trying to bully Fu Jie?

Zheng Qiang who seemed to be minding his own business didn't even bother to turn around as he heard himself being proclaimed a hypocrite.

Suddenly, there was another woman who joined them, "Martial sister Yao, If they are fighting, let them fight. It's better not to get involved."

This woman looked to be pretty eye-pleasing and although she wasn't as pretty as Luo Lijuan, she could still be considered as a rare beauty with skin like jade and eyes that seemed to put you in a trance just by glaring at you. She was a cold beauty, whereas, Senior sister Yao was the complete opposite. She looked the best while smiling and had flawless skin with a warm undertone. Her face was one you would find yourself being more comfortable around. A friendly person would be the first thing you'd say if you looked at Senior sister Yao.

Chen Qiao gestured towards this newcomer and looked at Fu Jie as he spoke, "This is senior sister Xu."

The cold beauty turned her head and looked at Fu Jie as if she had just noticed the existence of this man.

"Ah! You're... Who are you?"

Fu Jie almost thought she had also recognized him because of his famous reputation as Elder Dayu's son but it seemed that this cold beauty was quite unaware of the rumors.

Fu Jie was glad to see that there was at least one person who didn't know about the ridiculous rumor.

Senior sister Yao, "Martial sister Xu, this is Shizun's son, Xia."

Fu Jie choked as he heard this and Senior sister Xu's eyes went wide.

"What?! Shizun had a son?!"

Senior sister Yao chuckled and Fu Jie immediately waved his hand and head around as he strongly denied it.

"He's definitely not my father!"

Senior sister Xu frowned as she saw this, "How disappointing..." She sighed as she added, "And here I thought a girl had finally managed to win Elder Dayu's attention."

Chen Qiao suddenly felt a little mischievous as he asked, "I wonder if Senior sister Xu would be able to become the amazing woman who'll win Shizun's heart."

Senior sister Xu smacked him on the head and Fu Jie couldn't help but feel a bit satisfied with it.

"Stop talking nonsense."

The man rubbed his head, "I shouldn't have tried to tease you."

Senior sister Xu shivered as she commented, "I would never wanna be such an unfortunate girl."

Fu Jie, "Unfortunate?"

The first thing Fu Jie thought when he had met Xiao Jingyi was that this man was quite handsome and probably had a lot of girls lining up to be his future partner but it seemed that not even his own disciple was interested in entering his harem.

Maybe the beauty of a flower wasn't enough to attract the butterflies.

"Of course, she'd be unfortunate!" Senior sister Xu exclaimed, "Can you even imagine Shizun being romantic to a person?"

"I'm... Not sure." Fu Jie really couldn't imagine anything because the only impression Xiao Jingyi left in his mind was that of a handsome man who lacked all kinds of manners and was certainly deserving of being thrown in a pig shed.

Senior sister Yao also joined in on the fun as she added, "I wonder if he'd wake her up by asking her to recite the first thousand rules of Maple passion pavilion instead of a warm handmade breakfast."

Chen Qiao chuckled as he heard this, "That's possible. Ah! I suddenly sympathize for his future wife."

Senior Sister Yao turned her head and looked at Fu Jie mischievously as she asked, "Could it be that you aren't his son but..." She covered her mouth in exaggeration as she continued, "You're his secret partner?"

Fu Jie choked once again as he heard this and this time, he responded even strongly as he used his whole body to deny it, "No way! Definitely not! It's impossible! I don't like men!"

The three seniors broke out laughing as they lightly bullied Fu Jie.

Senior sister Yao patted Fu Jie's shoulder as she responded, "We were just joking. Don't take it so seriously."

Senior sister Xu also nodded as she spoke in between her laughter, "Don't worry, there's no way you're that misfortunate."

Fu Jie was kinda curious about it so he asked, "Eh? Why is that?"

Senior sister Yao, "You're new so you don't know but believe me. When you spend more time here, you'll eventually come to understand why we are saying this."

Fu Jie scoffed, "Forget it. I don't want to know. I already dislike him so it's useless talking about this."

Chen Qiao seemed to have wanted to add something to that but before he could say anything, they heard a deep voice speaking up and Fu Jie immediately recognized the person.

"We are here." Xiao Jingyi didn't turn his head as he announced.

Elder Fang from Jade pavilion chuckled as he commented, "Such amazing arrangement. Your maple passion pavilion certainly does not lack a few coins."

Elder Dayu seemed to be proud as he responded, "Of course not."

Elder Fang nodded, "This is great!"

Fu Jie couldn't see very well because of Zheng Qiang and another man who was walking in front of him so he took a side step and peeked to look at the thing that had caused them all to stop.

In front of the group were animals. Creatures that Fu Jie had only seen in fictional fantasy stories.

"What are those?" Fu Jie asked no one in particular as he looked at the creatures that seemed to be waiting for them like an obedient horse.

Chen Qiang stepped forward as he answered, "Those are spiritual beasts. Sprinting wolves."

"Sprinting wolves?"

Senior sister Yao nodded her head as she spoke up, "They are expensive."

Fu Jie could already guess that.

The sprinting wolves were all white in color with the end of their fur being a light color of blue. They had glaring eyes that seemed to stare right into your soul and were certainly bigger than normal wolves. One sprinting wolf alone was as big as two large horses combined.

Fu Jie was sure that more than five people could easily and comfortably sit on top of one of these wolves.

Senior sister Xu sighed as she spoke with a sense of disbelief, "Such waste of money."

Zheng Qiang who hadn't said much throughout their journey suddenly added to this, "The sect master wants this demon-hunting alliance to be grand and successful so of course, no efforts would be left out. If we can afford it, it will certainly be arranged."

"How much does renting one of them cost?" Fu Jie asked out of curiosity.

Chen Qiao, "Renting one for a ride would cost you about two gold coins."

Fu Jie was surprised to hear this price and it was all because he originally thought he wouldn't be able to afford one because of how everyone was reacting but when he heard the price, he couldn't help but feel surprised that he had thought wrong.

There were a lot of gold coins inside the pouch that was given to him by the young boy whom he had saved. Fu Jie had never really sat down to count all the coins but he was sure that it was enough to hire at least ten or twenty of these sprinting wolves."

Fu Jie unconsciously smiled as he thought this and Chen Qiao who had noticed his change in demeanor couldn't help but ask, "Are you smiling?"

Fu Jie shook his head and answered, "Nothing."

How could he say the truth and tell the man that he was smiling because he suddenly felt that if he ever needed to run away from someone, instead of running, he could simply rent one of these creatures out and safely run away without worrying about his speed?

Senior sister Xu, "Eh! Wait a minute. If I remember correctly Senior Martial brother Dai also owns a sprinting wolf, doesn't he?"

All pairs of eyes turned to the man who was standing in front of Fu Jie, beside Zheng Qiang.

Throughout the whole journey, Fu Jie had never noticed the existence of this man.

Only now that he had been pointed at did Fu Jie notice him.

It wasn't Fu Jie's fault. This man referred to as martial brother Dai was not someone with a loud presence. He was quiet and seemed to be detached from the world. If someone were to tell Fu Jie that this man was just a puppet that didn't have a soul, Fu Jie would probably believe it.
