Synopsis
Eve Ziffer always believed that one day her nano-machines would save humanity. It needed to be saved—from pollution, from the climate change, from the wars. Yet in the end, her research instead turned out to be the thing that pushed it into the very abyss.
After surviving an attack and waking up from a six-years long coma that followed, Eve opens her eyes to see the world changed beyond recognition. Walking corpses roam the streets, and humans fight them with swords and superpowers.
Now Eve is the only person able to finish her own work and fix the nano-machines that brought this devastation. Whether the last vestiges of mankind would disappear, or would the human race rise like a phoenix from the ashes—all lies in hands of Eve and the people she will meet along the way.
They will fight and they will scheme and they will talk, because human vices are adversaries as bad as the zombies; and trials of friendship and love can be as perilous as any battle.

Victor leaned towards her face, burning her with his glare. “No.”
“I’m doing this for myself, for you and for science. Any single one of these reasons is enough to keep disagreeing with you.”
Victor’s eyes dropped to her lips. ‘There is more than a single way to dominate a person…’
Before he could even try to stop himself, he dived in, pressing his lips on hers. His hand grabbed the back of Eve’s head, another fell on Eve’s thin waist and followed the alluring lines of her figure to her hip. His body was burning with inner fire.
Eve was too shocked to think. She never expected for this standoff to end like it did. Victor kissed her as if he wanted to eat her. His bites stung, but his lips soothed. The heat of his hand burned her skin even through clothes.
Then Eve finally regained her sanity. She drove her knee into Victor’s groin. He gasped and bended in pain, letting Eve go. Before he could resist, she continued the combo with a strike to the back of his head and a submission hold on his arm.
“What are you doing?! I should’ve listened to Xia better. Men really are worse than dogs! How did I miss the moment when your brain had turned into mush, Victor?”
“I didn’t think that I would need to spell it out, but there can be no romantic interactions in work time, and no romantic relations between researchers and test subjects. More than that, I’m not interested!”

Write a review
Interesting characters, world setting, and overall plot. While the writing is by no means flawless, it is at a much higher bar than the average original work on the site, and it grows and develops as the author continues to get more and more chapters under their belt. You can really see just how much growth the author has if you also take a peek at their other work, though this one is certainly worth reading as well, if you've already gotten to this point in the reviews I'm sure you've already seen the synopsis to gauge whether the setting is of interest to you or not. As a fellow author in this novel's discord server, I've had the privilege of helping as an idea soundboard for the upcoming story arc, and I can happily say that active readers have several things to look forward to, I'll resist the urge to give any spoilers >:3
Wow... Just, wow... Zombie-apocalypse... caused by Nanites instead of Virus? Very Unique, me likey. Plot is good, MC is realistic, writing is solid, and world background, even though it isn't a lot yet, is great. Waiting for more
I really like the story, it's so unique and different But author please please if there will be any romance to make it slow and to be late romance since it will ruin the it considering eve character and that it's apocalypse . I stopped at chapter 14 to stock some chapters up so i don't know if you introduced some romance with ellie or not but hopefully you didn't Keep up the good work and the amazing story

Well I found this book after its completion, hence I can’t judge about the update stability. Still, I give it a 5 because this story deserves to be noted 5 overall. Writing is excellent. Story was completed when I found it. I’m around chapter 101 and the story developped quite well in that number of chapters. I love the characters, because they feel humans. Never expected the romantic turn of the story but it made sense that it happened when it did. And they are well matched, I think. The world is described well enough to be immersed in it. All in all, it is a very good short story so far. Let’s see how it ends !
I really enjoy this story and the creative Apocalypse imagined by this author! The characters are Great! I love that everyone gets a Superpower after the apocalypse and that people can upgrade themselves like a computer! I wish i could to that too! I need more Memory and and Upgrade myself!! 😁😁

Well written with a well depicted main character. The story develops at just the right pace, not too fast not too long, it's quite enjoyable. I like the nanite idea and am eager to see what more they have in store. Grammar issues are close to non-existent, making the reading flow smooth, unlike a lot of other novels on the website. All in all good job.
The author has a vivid style of description. This is the first zombie story I'm reading and I can't say I enjoy it any less. Keep up the works and don't stop.

I have read quite a few zombie novels and the way it starts is generally the same except for this book. It shows the author's creativity and forethought. Also, there are clear origins for the system. It is not some kind of magic and well explained. The two characters that have been introduced are interesting and properly portrayed. The author does a good job in portraying the apocalyptic world giving. It felt like getting a tour of that world. Keep up the good work. :D
Highly recommended. Read it and you'll know why this book is worth reading. Starting from the characters to the plots and settings, and you'll see the development and the creativity the author had put it thoroughly. The writing style is very good too. It's different from other authors' writing style. I was a bit confused why it's a little bit underrated. Like the story is really well-written. Anyways, I hope many would read the book. It's good.
This man roasted me... I feel the need to do the same... however I am a nice person and well... moderatly nice anyways. I've read many zombie stories before, and honestly they were the same... but this one... mixing Gaming and Zombies... IT'S GENIUS...

Good stuff, but it would be cool if you speed up a little. Your writing ability is astonishing, and the world is well developed. Not my favorite theme of novel, but i could easily give it a try when feeling like reading something different.

The world background is creative and the outbreak of zombies caused by nanites is innovative and imaginative! Eve is strong and I'm sure she is gonna kick ass. Keep up the great work, I'll look forward to more chapters!
I'd like to remind that this is entirely my own opinion and only based upon everything up to chapter 8. (Since there wasn't more out yet.) Writing Quality: The only noticeable mistake was definitely caused by auto correct. It's good, especially if it's really the first book. Story Development: I don't usually like zombie stories, which makes this a pleasant surprise. The mystery keeps you hooked, then kicks the character development in and the action. I couldn't stop before I read everything. Character Design: The main character is clever, without seeming like a know it all. A difficult balancing act, but it worked here. There wasn't much from the side characters, but it's still early. And what was there is making me more interested. Update stability: What's to say? The writer does still write, so good. I guess... World Background: Seems like Earth. But the nanotechnology based magic system is interesting. If you would even like to call that magic. I would thought. The ability of the main character make for unlimited possibilities! Or near that. I wonder what's going to happen with that. Summary: It's not much right now, in terms of chapters. But it's promising. And you should check out the review that the writer wrote. It's amazing!

Totally irrelevant question sure, but this book flows well with rock playing in the background. I planned on reading just the first chapter and went on to read the whole thing. I like the story line and I was too in the zone to notice errors. I'll read again just so I can roast you back. *adds evil laugh in the end.
An apocalypse setting with hints of sci-fi in it . A bit similiar to resident evil but with zombies instead. It had a detailed construction of characters and plot. It is a nice story all over.
