Chapter 8: Stone Golem
Waking up Lao felt somehow refreshed. In fact she felt more refreshed that she had felt sleeping in her own bed.
Furthermore she even felt stronger than before. This had never happened before.
'This is weird' Lao thought 'While the effect is less I feel like I've been around a spiritual flame.'
Lao stood up and stretched. She felt fantastic. She was bursting with energy. She felt like she could fight the King of the Forest with one hand behind tied behind her back.
'what could have caused me to become stronger?' Lao thought
Lao observed her surroundings, looking for any possible answer to her question.
Unfortunately, Lao didn't see anything out of the ordinary in her surroundings.
'What could have happened? ' Lao questioned 'The only thing here that gives off fire mana is Alilith...'
Suddenly a thought surfaced in her mind.
'What if the fire mana that Alilith gives off strengthens fire spirits!' Lao thought 'No thats absurd! If that was true than fire spirits would fight over her and thered be a war!'
'I must keep this a secret.' Lao thought, her eyes hardening in resolve.
Of course her true motive wasn't to prevent a war between fire spirits but to reach the pinnacle of power and live a life of luxury in the city of spirits.
After deciding her course of action Lao flew over to Alilith, who was still peacefully sleeping, and landed heavily on Alilith's stomach.
"Cough* Cough* W,w,w,What was that for?!" Aliltih asked as she gripped her stomach tightly.
"Its a wake up call." Lao said
"You could've just called my name or lightly shook me!" Alilith said, annoyed at Lao's rude awakening.
"Thats too bad, you should've thought of that yesterday when you woke me up." Lao stated clearly not sorry about Alilith's pain.
Alilith was speechless. She knew she couldn't say anything in response. She had in fact caused Lao's tent to be exploded.
"Whatever." Alilith said, "What are we doing today?"
"Guess what! Were training today in live combat." Lao said a she danced in the air.
"Didn't we do that yesterday and the day before that."
"Yeah! So what! We're gonna do it again." Lao said enthusiastically
Lao quickly rushed into the forest forcing Alilith to follow her.
"Wait up Lao, you didn't even give me time to get up."
"Too bad you should've been prepared to get up."
Alilith sighed in exasperation. She knew that she wouldn't win this argument even though Alilith knew she was right.
Lao spread out her mana into a thin layer, using it to sense nearby mutated beasts.
Lao searched for a suitable target for Alilith's practice. However she could only find normal animals such as squirrels and blue jays.
Suddebly Lao sensed a strong mana signature in her mana sense range. Following that sense Lao and Alilith came across an open meadow with no trees around.
In the middle of the meadow was a giant boulder. The boulder was around 10 ft long and at a height of 15 ft.
"I definitely sensed a strong mana signature here." Lao said searching the meadow "Where is it?."
Lao continued to search the meadow for several before giving up.
"Lord of spirits!" Lao yelled in exhaustion "Where is it!?"
Lao gave up and layer down on the boulder. Suddenly the boulder shook.
"Whats happening!?" Lao shouted as she flew off the boulder.
Suddeboy the boulder started to lift itself out of the ground. Giant stone arms and legs protruded form the boulder. Finally the boulder stood up revealing its full height of 25 ft to Alilith and Lao.
"A stone golem!?" Lao shouted "I've never seen one before!"
Aliltih quickly got ready for battle. She took the fighting stance for the fire spiritual magic martial art.
Without waiting the stone golem started to move slowly towards Alilith and Lao.
"Watch out Alilith."Lao said giving a warning to Alilith "While golem are slow they are very strong."
Aliltih watched the golem slowly approached. Suddenly she dashed straight towards the golem.
Alilith was much faster than the golem. She quickly arrived at the golem and threw out a punch with her hand wreathed in flames.
Baaaannnnngggg!!!!
Alilith's fist hit the golem causing a small explosion. However when the smoke cleared Alilith saw that only a few small chips of atone came off leaving the golem relatively unscathed.
The golem raised its arm, getting ready to smash its assailant to pieces. Aliltih seeing this quickly dodged the strike.
When the fist hit the ground after missing Alilith it caused an explosion of dirt and small stones to fly out at Alilith causing her to be hit by the small debris.
[-3 Health]
After receiving the notification Alilith quickly backed away from the golem.
'Damn, this thing is hard.' Alilith thought to herself 'My hand went numb from punching it, ill have to increase my fire power.'
While Alilith was thinking the stone golem approached her once again, getting ready to try and strike her once more.
Once again Alilith charges toward the golem. This time when Alilith reached the golem she caused an explosion at her feet propelling her over the golem.
When she was in the air Alilith coated her foot in flames and used another explosion to propell her down towards the golems head.
Booooommmm!!!
Once again an explosion rang out into the surroundings. Lao who was watching the battle from a safe distance was swept away by the shock wave of the explosion.
When Alilith landed on the ground she looked at the head of the golem.The golems head was missing a fourth of its mass but the golem was unhindered by the damage and started to slowly turn towards her.
'I still need more power.' Alilith thought.
Alilith gathered mana into her fist covering it in vibrant flames. This time instead of charging the golem Aliltih continued to strengthen her flames.
The golem was almost in front of her, it lifted its massive arm once more in an attempt to kill her.
When the golem was right in front of Alilith her flames were no longer the vibrant orange and yellow flames but a deep red like the color of the Lesser spiritual flame.
Alilith sensed that this was the limit of her flames at the moment and stopped gathering mana into her fist.
The golem looked down at Alilith with its broken head and sent its huge fist down at her.
At the same time Alilith sent out her fiery fist out towards the golems fist.
Booooooooooommmmmmmmm!!!!
An explosion bigger than all the others resounded throughout the forest. The Shockwave shook the branches of the trees violently and send Lao flying once more.
When the clouds of dust cleared the winner of the contest of strength remained standing. That winner was Alilith.
Alilith stood over the remains of the golem. The golem was shattered into countless tiny rocks. Parts of the golem had even melted becoming molten rock.

Alilith closed the notification and sat on the ground breathing heavily.
After a while Alilith recovered from the fight and looked around for Lao.
"Heeelllppp! Heeeelllppp! Alilith help me if you don't I swear to the Lord of Spirits that I'm not helping you anymore!"
Following the voice of desperation Alilith quickly found Lao trapped under a fallen tree.
"Ah Alilith, you're finally here!" Lao said happily "Now hurry and get this off of me!"
Alilith bent down to burn the log but then she stopped.
"I'll help you if you apologize for waking me up by landing on me."
"What!? No I'm not apologizing I lost my tent because of you!" Lao said refusing to apologize.
"Okay, your choice." Alilith said while slowly walking away.
"W,w,w,Wait, where are you going!? Don't leave me here." Lao yelled in desperation "I'm sorry please help me."
"What are you sorry for?" Alilith asked as she turned back around.
"...Sorry... For waking you up by landing on you..." Lao said quietly.
"Okay! I forgive you!" Alilith said, smiling brightly as she burned the log.
"Alright, I'm hungry lets go get some food." Alilitb said as she walked off the find prey to hunt.
"Wait for me!" Lao said desperately following Alilith.

Sorry for not writing a chapter last week guys. I was really busy with stuff and couldn't get it done.
