Chapter 43: Shen Family
After a while they parted away from the hug. Shen Yun then tugged Elder Shen and pulled him from the ground to help him stand up. Shen Yun then looked up at Su Yuxin and then her grandfather.
"Grandfather, you know you scared me to death if it wasn't for the Divine Medical Goddess, I cant guarantee what would have happened. She was the one who saved your life. She is the Divine Medical Goddess. Her skills are top-notch. She just checked your pulse and easily knew what was wrong with you and helped to get your consciousness back."
That little girl started praising Su Yuxin in front of her grandfather.
"Thank you divine doctor for saving my life. You are really a phoenix among women. Thank you for saving this old man's life."
Elder Shen bowed and thanked her his eyes where filled with gratitude.
Su Yuxin just smiled with confidence.
"How should I address you, Elder?"
Elder Shen looked at Shen Yun while Shen Yun just sticked her tongue out.
"I panicked over your condition that I forgot to introduce myself."
Elder Shen just shook his head knowing only this girl would forget to introduce herself.
"Divine doctor, My family name is Shen. You can call me Elder Shen. And this little girl is my granddaughter. Her name is Shen Yun."
Su Yuxin nodded her head and introduced herself.
"Elder Shen, Everyone calls me Divine Medical Goddess or Divine Doctor. But you can just call me Miss. And I would like you to invite inside the Thousand Herb to discuss something with you."
Elder Shen nodded his head in approval.
"Let's go inside, Yuner."
Then Su Yuxin, shopkeeper, Elder Shen and Shen Yun all went inside the Thousand Herb.
All other people surrounding around starting leaving. But they all started to sing praises for the Divine Medical Goddess how she had divine skills to treat all patients. She was kind and modest. Elegant and refined. Most of the guys who witnessed the commotion today started worshiping Su Yuxin as a Goddess sent from heaven to save them.
Inside the Thousand Herb Hall
Su Yuxin sat on the chair while Elder Shen and Shen Yun sat opposite to her.
"Elder Shen you must have guessed already why I called you in?"
Su Yuxin asked while looking at him while Shen Yun looked back and forth to Su Yuxin and Elder Shen wondering why.
"Isn't it about my disease and how it keeps flaring up? If you have any bad news about how long I am going to be alive, please do tell."
Elder Shen said in a soft and gentle tone as he already accepted the truth about his disease and he might die soon.
Shen Yun was shocked hearing those words from her grandfather. She looked at him eyes widened, her eyes were tearing up. She held into his arm not wanting to let him go.
"Grandfather didn't you say that you can still live for more couple of years? Why didn't you be tell me that you might not? You can still be treated right?"
Shen Yun asked hoping he would say he will be treated.
Seeing the hope in his dearest granddaughter eyes, Elder Shen couldn't bring himself to say truth. He just closed his eyes to hide the sadness.
Even though he didn't say it himself, Shen Yun understood it already. Shen Yun refused to acknowledge it. She looked at Su Yuxin as her last hope.
"Divine Medical Goddess, you can treat my grandfather right? He can still be saved? Please save him."
Elder Shen calmed the little young girl.
"Yuner don't force Miss. Our family doctor and all doctor who came to visit my condition already said I am beyond treatment. And I accept it , Yuner. You should accept it too. All humans have to die one day."
Elder Shen patted her while securing her in his arms. Towards being completely and permanently cured, Elder Shen didn't hold any hopes.
Su Yuxin gently touched Shen Yun face and smiled.
She looked at Elder Shen with her confident look,
"I can treat you. And you can still live for long."
Hearing her words, Elder Shen was shocked and beyond joyful.
Shen Yun who was having hard time digesting her grandfather words suddenly brimmed in happiness as she clasped her hand against Su Yuxin's hand.
"I knew it, Divine Medical Goddess could save you grandfather. You will be healthy again."
"In a month time, you will recovered. Every week I will give you acupuncture. I will also give some prescribed pills that Elder Shen will have to eat daily."
"Sure sure. I will do all of them."
Elder Shen replied eagerly.
"Okay that's it for today. Elder Shen you can return home and come tomorrow, I will give another round of acupuncture. You can take the pills from the shopkeeper."
"Thank you Miss. You have no idea how much of a big grace you have done to me. I will remember this saving grace if you ever need help with anything, you can always come to me."
Elder Shen really meant every word he uttered to her.
Shen Yun went near Su Yuxin and looked at her feet shyly. She looked up at Su Yuxin and stuttered,
"C-Can I call you big sister?"
Su Yuxin hugged her and patted her head.
"Sure you can."
Su Yuxin usually hate children as most of them who she met before were snotty, spoiled and bratty but unlike them Shen Yun was bold courage and cute.
Shen Yun was the princess of Shen Family Clan, she was treated with love by everyone but wasn't snotty or spoiled but instead kind and caring.
Shen Yun giggled gleefully.
"Yay, I have a big sister now."
Later both Elder Shen and Shen Yun left the Thousand Herb to tell the good news to their family.
Su Yuxin then goes backyard to meet Alchemist Yue. Alchemist Yue who was tending his herbs suddenly spoke,
"You brat, why have you come here? Is your work done already at the shop?"
"Mhmm, there was only one patient today."
Alchemist Yue stopped tending his herb garden and looked at Su Yuxin questionably.
"Why is that?"
Su Yuxin sat down in the wooden plank.
"There was a commotion in front of the shop. A old man fainted and his granddaughter was weeping for help. I went and treated him to wake up and we talked about starting treatment from tomorrow and they left."
Alchemist Yue raised his eyebrows.
"Do you know their name?"
Su Yuxin hummed in approval and said,
"The old man said I can call him Elder Shen and the granddaughter name is Shen Yun."
'Are they from that Shen Family? Why are they here?'
Alchemist Yue rubbed his beard while thinking about these things.
Su Yuxin saw her master in daze as she stood up and stretched her body.
"Master, I will be going back to General Mansion now."
Alchemist Yue snapped out of his thoughts after hearing Su Yuxin.
"Okay, you can go back."
Alchemist Yue dismissed her by waving his hand.
Su Yuxin along with Lu Xiu returned back General Mansion.
