Chapter 6: I'm Sorry
I sighed wearily and close my eyes as I lean my back on my swivel chair. I'm on my office now and I just finished reviewing and editing the four manuscripts.
Thankfully, There's no much correction with those.
"Allyssa."
I automatically look up to him who just entered ny office without my permission. Ah, this man. He's really rude that's why I don't understand why do he have to be the Valedictorian when he shows no manner.
"What now Calvin? I'm tired. Please, Don't make this day more stressful for me or else-"
"Or else what?" He drag the chair in front of me and sit there without my permission again so I can't help but to sigh. He's really irritating and disrespectful.
"You talk like I'm really a big problem to you. That's so rude Miss Allyssa Niana Divinagracia."
"Oh please Calvin. Stop 'putting' Miss because it's so awkward." I rolled my eyes when I see him smile in a flirtatious way. Tsk! Is he trying to seduce me?
My, He looks even more handsome because of that and I wanted to punch myself for praising him even though I despised him so much and the up above knows that.
I still don't forget what happened yesterday! And I was very thankful earlier because I didn't saw his annoying face but now. He was already here and starting to annoy me again like he can't do anything in his life.
He's so freaking irritating!
"And stop calling me my whole name because it's so annoying."
"Yeah, right." he was now serious as he look around on my small office. My gaze followed him and I wanted to smile when I saw the twinkle in his eyes. I don't know where did it came from but he looks...frustratingly handsome!
My heart started to beat irregularly as I watched him secretly. I felt like the time stopped and his smiling face was the only one I can see inside in this office.
His blue eyes were captivating. Added by the fact that it was framed with thick and long lashes that made me green with envious.
I sighed as I look at his face again. I just realized now that he really looks like a demigod. And lord! Why did I just realized it now? I could have seen it before since we like grown up together.
"How can a guy look handsome like this...?" I whispered unconsciously.
"Yes Allyssa? Did you say something?"
I blink my eyes twice when he suddenly turned to me while a smile plastered on his face didn't vanished. I look away when I felt my cheeks heated. My, Did he just heard something?
Oh my gosh!
"N-no, Of course not!" My eyes widened when I saw his playful smile. What is he thinking?!
"You're so defensive."
"What?! No way! I mean, Not. I am not." I took a deep breath to calm my system. Gosh! He never really failed to make me feel like this. It was so unfair because I seems to have this effect of him everytime he was around and most of all if he was near.
And I don't even know why!
"What are you doing here Calvin? I told you I don't wanted to see you."
"Well, It was conversely far from me."
I look at him with a question in my eyes. And what does that mean?
"W-what?"
"Have you eaten your lunch? You look exhausted." he look at my eyes. "And look at your eyes. Your eyebags was so big."
"Calvin" I rolled my eyes "How can I look into my eyes? Are you a mirror?"
He laughed that made me narrowed my brows. What's so funny?
"Mirror? How do you say so?"
"Isn't it obvious? Because you are in front of me so I if I have my mirror here. It's supposed to be you."
"You really have a potential of being a lawyer Allyssa. I don't know what's your reason for talking different path with your family." I heard him sigh while I just stared at his...handsome face.
"Did they didn't get mad with you?"
"What do you think?"
I look away when he look intimately at me again. My answer was obvious and I know that he can be numb sometimes but he's not stupid. After all he's the Valedictorian way back then.
Why would he get that tittle if he was? He was the most smart and intelligent in our batch and the most prominent person so it wasn't hard for me to know him most of all because he's my number one enemy.
"So that's the reason why you're not living in your Mansion."
"Aside from that, I would also choose to live by my own even if so."
"So?"
"Even if my Parents and I... were good."
I can clearly heard his loud gasp so I look away when I saw his reaction. I don't want to see judgements in his eyes. I could afford to be scolded by my parents but not to ba laughed by him.
Like I'm some kind of funny.
Oh well, Maybe I really am. My life was all entirely funny and I can't understand what's the purpose why I have to live here when I am just all alone. No one cares me.
No one would even ask me if I am just okay when I need everyone. But look at Calvin now, He was here and he know that I was exhausted. Should I be happy about that when I felt something like concern from him?
Or should I be sad because maybe he saw me some pity.
"I'm sorry."
I look at him but his head were bowed that made me confused. But what made me more confused was when he look at me with pure sadness on his eyes and I felt like I just wanted to close my eyes.
"W-why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong."
"No, I mean. I'm sorry I shouldn't have know that. I'm sorry for asking. I'm sorry for what happened. I'm s-"
"Calvin, Stop." I took a deep breath as I look at him seriously. "Stop saying sorry like it's all your fault. No one wants it okay? Or maybe...It was really my fault because I choose to disobey them for my own dreams and that's disrespectful because after all. They are still my parents."
"And you are their daughter, And a parent can't resist their child. Have you ever been talked since you left the Country to study in France?"
"How did you know about it?"
"You're changing the topic. Of course I'll know it. I was there when you talked with Tita and Tito. In Devianna's house."
Oh, I forgot that he was also here. Maybe I was too tired to still remember that.
"So?"
"What?" I asked even if he was obviously referring for his question earlier. I sighed. "No, We haven't. And you're wrong because my Parents didn't even asked me even once if I was just fine and okay when I'm away. So if you're parents are like that. That they can't resist you." I smiled sadly.
"Then you are such a lucky bastard."
