Chapter 16: Forever and Always
I frowned as I watched Calvin happily talking to a Woman at the corner of the store. And I don't really like the woman of the way she looked at him and the way she touches his arm. It was like She was flirting with him.
And the gorilla didn't even seem to feel that. or maybe he was really aware but he doesn't even care because he likes it?
I secretly rolled my eyes. And annoyed that I just focused on what I was doing. my day will only be ruined by their flirting if I keep watching them.
"That man is really annoying. He brought me here but he didn't even pay attention to me just because there's someone else" I can't help but snort and frown.
I really wanted to hit his head.
So annoying.
"It's your fault Ally. You were too entertained in reading the Book there and you didn't watch him. I hope you're not complaining now and look like you're going to kill someone" I looked at Devi badly but she just smiled so I was even more annoyed.
"Excuse me? I'm not complaining. It was just annoying because right in front of me the two were flirting live" I said.
Promise, I wanted vomit right now.
"Don't worry Allyssa. My cousin isn't flirting. You're just jealous." she grinned and I looked up.
What did she say? Jealous? Hah! Where did that come from? Never! What do I even care about that man?
I widened my eyes at Devi and pinched her side. She just laughed and avoided.
"Jealous your face! Of course not! And why should I be jealous? If it's just the look that we'll going to take about. I'm more with her except for flirting because I'm ignorant when it comes there and FYI even if they will go to a hotel now. I don't cares!"
Hah! That man? the pest who says that he should be the only contents of my mind but look at him now, He was with someone else. He's so unfair!
I frowned as I looked at them again.
"You really are very obvious. Yes and not is the only answer you would going to say but you were saying amounts of words. You sounds so defensive." she said teasingly so my eyes widened and I quickly hit her.
"I don't know what are you talking about Devianna! There you are!" I left her there. I just walked to the far corner of the Store carrying the Book of Piano and Violin Lessons that I had been busy reading before.
I'm at the National Bookstore now owned by Devi so even if I'm here for a few more hours and I run out of a few more books, she won't be angry with me. Anyways, I'll pay if she just agrees.
I want to get over about what happened yesterday that's why I'm trying to amuse myself by reading. I thought it can help but I was wrong because my Moms words keeps bothering me until now.
And I wonder why I woke up in the House of the Mendocinos? Could it be ...
My family after I collapsed throw me away even if I'm still unconscious and then Calvin was there and he feel pity about me that's why he take me to their House?
I let out a heavy sigh at the thought. It's breaking my heart.
"Problem?" I don't have to look up to that person to know who he is. his voice, presence and the way my heart beats fast wherever he was around I already know it was him That's how I'm aware of him.
And sometimes I just wanted to punch myself for that I can't even explain feelings.
"Why are you here?"
"You sounds like you don't wanted to see me." he sat beside me but I didn't even mind looking at him. It's up to him there. I'm still busy with him.
It's not only sounds like I don't wanted to see me because it was really true. After what I've witness? C'mon. The little part of my head said so I rolled my eyes secretly.
Where's the girl he was with before? Has she left now that he's here with me again? Oh well.
I did not answer him. I just kept looking at the Book I was reading even though I was just reading a sentence there over and over again because I didn't understand anything.
My mind is too busy.
"You were peevish today. It looks like you're not in a good mood."
"Yes, so you can leave because I don't have time to work with you."
He sneezed and sat up. Even though I wasn't looking, I could see from the corner of my eyes that he was staring at me. I felt uncomfortable but I don't want to look back at him.
I'm afraid I'll be statued again.
"What's bothering you?"
"Non of your biz." I rolled my eyes.
He sighed. "Allyssa ... Are you mad of me?"
"Why did you think that?" I furrowed my brows. Still not looking at him.
"Nothing. I just concluded. You're not paying attention to me."
"Can't you see? I was reading." I said without looking at him. I was surprised when the book I was reading suddenly disappeared from my hand. When I look at Calvin, He was already holding it.
I glared at him and tried to reach for the Book but he refused to give it back to me. I clenched my fist in irritation.
"Give it to me Calvin if you don't want me to hurt you."
"Why would I? Your mind was out of nowhere. You cannot even understand this book because your attention was not on the page that you're reading."
I opened my mouth in amazement at what he said. How did he even know that?
That's when I look at him. He was serious all of a sudden. he wasn't smiling like his usual expression wherever he was teasing and talking to me and I can't understand how my irritation changes into admiration.
He really looks so handsome whatever face expression he would wear. I'm envious.
"Give it back to me Calvin." I said emphatically as I held out my hand. he shook his head so I was irritated.
"Not unless you'll tell me what's bothering you."
"I said, Nothings bothering me."
He ignored what I said. I frowned." Is it about your Parents? Don't worry. My family was ready to accept you in our Home. You are very much welcome if you'll stay there if they would throw you out if your home."
"Why would I be kicked out there? Have you forgotten? I didn't live there."
"I know. What I mean is they'll throw you out of their lives forever. Can you do that?"
"I live my life for years without them so why can't I? And one more thing, If only in exchange for the love I'm asking from them is for them to tie me up. No thanks. I would have been willing to be alone forever."
He held my hands to my surprise.Wwhen I look at him again, There's already a hint if smile in his face that made my heart beat wildly and go crazy. Shit!
"You won't be alone forever Ally. Have you forgotten? I'm here. I'll be always at your side... Forever."
