Synopsis

|STATUS: COMPLETED|

Once upon a time...

Rumour has it that a certain king became so desperate that he blindly made a dangerous pact with a seductive demon goddess who ruled the realm of 'Yonder'.
She bore him a son who would, in time, fulfil the 'Dark Prophecy'.

But...

What if falling in love with a maiden of pure heart and clear conscience could free him from the overwhelming darkness buried deep within?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

'My god! What happened just now?' she asked herself while pressing her fabric rigidly against her breast cage.

She retreated two steps away from him as she reminisced about the event of barely a few seconds earlier.

'It—he almost had me? The devil himself? I—I would have easily given myself to him?'

Observing her confusion, Briceus gave off a curt smirk before standing up.

"I wouldn't have guessed that you'll be a woman of low esteem and easy to use, Elizabeth. Perhaps I was wrong in thinking you were different"

"Your Majesty, I —"

"I'll have you know that I have no interest in your lowly unattractive body, Elizabeth so you don't have to attempt to hide so much and appear so startled"

'Lowly body? He said this to me?'

". . . If those are the foolish thoughts flying around your tiny skull, you would be damned to imagine such because I have met far more beautiful maidens but you are most certainly the one who has impressed me the least in character" Elizabeth felt spited even though she hated herself for weakly yielding to his charms just now.

"If I were so lowly to the king and if I am everything you've described me to be so far, then I will advise that His Majesty should quickly demand a refund from my family and hand me back to them!"
Briceus was unmoved by her bold utterances.

All the while she had spoken, he had his eyes glued to her lush pale strawberry lips which for some reason had begun to lure him in.

This is my work so a biased five-star review should do. So, I decided to drop this here since I'm nearly approaching sixty chapters(deleted the former review due to well... certain reasons). Moving on... just because this is a historical themed romance, doesn't mean that it's going to be cliché. When reading, you will realize something that I have done and that is treating each character as an individual actor in a play/movie (with more emphasis on our gorgeous MC and her charming beau of course). They will have a right to having their thoughts expressed and MC, her fated mate, and other important side characters will be portrayed in depth of character. Switch in POVs will not be such as would take away the flow of the original story(for this, I will do my best). Edits would be sorted out by my editor and myself to reduce the frequent occurrence of grammatical hiccups but still if you find any sentence to be grammatically overbearing, you can point it out politely and I'll duely appreciate it. Lastly, I hope that you'll enjoy my story as much as I enjoy writing it or even more. If there is any pressing question or comment you need to highlight, then by all means use the reply button below, to this post. Alright lovelies, too much serious talk, stay safe out there as we hope for the pandemic to fully subside 😘

This is so well written. It is descriptive and easy to follow, yet still linguistically intriguing eith very original metaphors and comparisons. Story is well-developed and it draws you right in. Cannot recommend it enough! And I cannot wait for more chapters to come!

This book reminds me of Pride Prejudice and Cinderella as well as the fairy tales of the demon lords, I'm excited about the next chapter! The writing is good, the dialogues sound really like the ones in Middle Ages stories. I want to see what would unfold next after Beth meets the Lord

A royal regency romance novel! It's been a while since I've read one. And it starts off with Shakespeare! That's a rare treat. Pride and Prejudice Cinderella in Middle-Earth, is what I'm reading. But without the elves, the dwarves, the hobbits, the creatures. There is a promise of magic, however, which is always something I'm excited to see in a romance. I'm ignoring that Lord Voldemort popped up briefly before being dead in half a sentence, haha! Probably not the best name to use there... The author wavers between modern and overwrought faux-historical language. But the plot is moving nicely and the characters are lively people. There’s a shadow of a prince that entices the reader to anticipation. There are only four chapters, but it promises to be a grand royal romance! Keep on writing, my author comrade!

I think I'm permitted to give this review at this time, being an avid reader myself and currently on the latest chapter (chapter 50) and anticipating the next. First off, I'd start by commending the author for doing a good job in aligning events as orderly as they should succeed each other. [Bonus point] Next off, I'd start by saying that just because MC is a female character doesn't mean the "Dark Lord" is not well represented as well. Matter of fact, I see the author skilfully bringing even the side characters to life and in as much as I'm trying not to sound ingeniously biased with my review, I'll implore you to check things out for yourself. Disclaimer: IF you are looking for a fantasy romance where the MC and her soulmate just jumps into being in love, with roses and pink and kisses everywhere then bleh, this book will prove you completely wrong and may not be your actual cup of tea. IMO, the manner the story has been depicted so far reeks of the author's imtelligence and this factor subtly manifests in the way the characters are represented in actions and their thoughts. Another reason why I'm sticking to this book is how the MC is painted as naive at first(truly an empath in some way not quick to judge people by their wrong towards her, but still smart in a way that you can see)... her curiosity is key and the fact that her origin has been carefully hidden by the author just makes your mind jump about with numerous possibilities. Then there is a lot of schemings and plots against you-know-who(no spoilers, read through to find out) Furthermore, for a book slated to begin in far back 1801, the author put in the effort to spice up the theme by using the right English style (archaic, at first) but it's not so heavy on it to take away the flow or make you feel bored. IMO I legit came for the archaic English experience but well maybe author has his reasons. Lastly, the main action as I am made to believe should proceed from chapter 49 I think onwards so don't be in a hurry to rule it out thinking the story is entirely from MC's opinion because it's not and I think the emphatic focus on MC's home of birth and foster family has a huge purpose to the plot. That being said, if you are tired of books that leave you brain dead when you read them and are more inclined to fantasies which has a slice to reality, this book is definitely your cup of tea as it is mine; give this book a try and you won't regret it. The only problem which is infact a pretty HUGE problem for me ... major emphasis on "HUGE", is that the author ghosts on us for some days sometimes due to health reasons and other times due to unexplained reasons but either way I'm still clinging to this book but in all honesty that's what is earning author a little short of a five star from me. So guys, I hope this review was detailed enough as I think an indepth critique/appraisal should help new readers understand the strong point/weak point of any book. #ProudlyDLMfan(which is rare for someone like me to be any book's fan)

C.o.m.p.e.l.l.i.n.g and classic! Hidden Gem. The first thing that stands out is beautiful writing. The archaic writing in the story is just rich and beautiful. The story flows nicely and immensely descriptive, capable of pulling readers to delve further into the dark and mysterious journey. The lead, Elizabeth, is a well written character and the way she's introduced and portrayed in the story is just great. I really like people who is genuinely kind and beautiful inside, this Elizabeth is just such a character, it's easy to love her for she's lovely and adorable. As for the male lead, dark prince, he's remained mystery but from the way he's introduced one could see that he would be deep and great written character. This book gives a unique of dark Cinderella vibes. The premise is good. Full of mysteries, kinda makes one wonder what else is there. Story development has been great so far, the anticipation and guessing keeps one at the edge every time. And again, I just couldn't get enough of the writing, every choice of word is great and there are quite lot of new words I found in this book. Overall it's very nice reading experience. Promising and great written story. Would certainly remained in my library for I really like to delve myself further into the end of this journey. Anyway, best luck to you.

reading after few chapters... This story makes me feel like I'm reading those renaissances like period books. Romeo and Juliet, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice. The way the character spoke gives off how those high-class people talks. and I love it. I can almost hear them talking with those British classy accent. Gambare, Author~ Love Beth by the way~

Such a cute slow-burn novel. There's plenty of great descriptions and dialogue, and a little bit of intrigue right from the start. There's so many good things to chew on in each chapter, such as the various literary references, and the overall atmosphere. This novel is very much worth adding to the library!

The title itself is just a masterpiece! The author's descriptive narration pulled me in enough, a story that starts off in 1801. Like how the author name the characters, it fits the timeline. This is far the best royal novel I've crossed and read. Give this book a try and support the author too!

This was wonderful, with amazing world-building, captivating characters like Beth, and such beautiful turns of phrase, like "Eden-green" for eyes and "twine-thin" - I could almost swear I was reading poetry. If you like slow burn romances with Dark Lords, add this, you won't be disappointed!
