Chapter 26: That which you have suggested

I walked behind everyone fuming, the prince is something else. I almost lost my life and just because he hates being in 'the land that should not be named. It infuriates me that he thinks that life is too simple. He could end it when he feels like it. And the others are acting like what he did was not wrong and it was justified.

I dragged my foot on the ground missing earth so much. Earth is the best planet where life is valued and cherished.

"What are you thinking about?"

I looked at who had asked me that question, the blue-haired man stood beside me. I guess was caught up in my thoughts I didn't notice his arrival.

"Nothing important," I replied.

"I am trying to figure something out and I am stuck between two options," he said and I looked at him intrigued.

"What is the problem?"

"I am undecided of whether I should kill you or not," he mumbled and I swallowed anxiously.

"Why d..do you w..want to kill me?"

"For what you have done today. How dare you bring the prince here when you know that he hates being here," he questioned. I remained silently unable to answer her. How do I answer the question and what do I say to him? They are all acting like the prince will die if he is in this land.

"This is where the prince died," he said angrily and I realized that I said my last thoughts out loud.

"Wait what?" I asked not sure I heard him right. Did he just say that this is the place that the prince died? How can that be possible when the prince is very much alive? He is alive enough to send others to their deaths.

"This is the land where the Prince died and got buried. That is why the land is forbidden, it reminds him of how cruel the world is and what happens to the weak and kind-hearted," he stated looking up to the skies as though recalling a distant memory.

"How can he be alive when he is already dead?" I asked him out of curiosity. Is it possible for people to come back to life after death on this planet? Does that mean that I don't have to worry so much about dying?

"He was killed and buried. For one hundred days he remained dead until one day the earth opened up and he came out. That day was the day the crown prince who was called the national angel became the demon prince. He burned most of the land and destroyed the beautiful city that this place used to be and brought the land to the forbidden. Until now," he said changing his aura on his last sentence.

He stared at me his eyes full of killing intent. I backed away from him and looked away. My heart weighing heavy in my chest with guilt, I now understand why he reacted like that when he found out where we were. It must be hard to walk in the land where he once laid as a dead person.

"I am sorry," I said to the man.

"I don't care about your pathetic apology. Just make him forget the fact that we are here of all places," he said in a sweet voice. ", Or else," he added in an icy cold voice. His voice is close to the prince's voice when he is angry but only by far. The prince's threat goes deep into one's backbone and makes you feel like you are close to death.

"Ho..how?" I asked him in a soft voice.

"I don't know. You are his bride surely you should know a thing or two about calming your groom down or cheering him up," he said.

"What is your name?" I asked him. I just can't keep calling him the blue-haired man.

"I'm Sly, I'm a merman. And you are?" he said and my eyes went wide from shock. Did he just say that he is a merman? Like half human and half fish. I wish I had a camera to document all these creatures. Surely I would become a legend on earth and even become rich from my discoveries. I could just imagine bathing in all that money, the line of girls outside my house begging for my attention.

"Ouch," I yelped in pain when I felt a kick to my leg. I glared at the blue-haired merman.

"What was that for?" I asked him feeling wronged.

"I asked you a question and then you dosed off and had this weird smile on your face that just begged me to hit you," he said.

"I'm Land.Lara," I said biting my lip from almost slipping up.

"It will be nice to meet you Land.Lara when you cheer the prince up. Now go," he said and pushed me to go to the prince.

I can already imagine his angry eyes staring at me and threatening me. He does look more handsome when he is angry, especially when he wears that wicked smirk on his lips. I took slow and careful steps to where the prince was walking with the royal elegance making him look like an angel.

"What do you want?" he asked me and I froze. His voice was neither cold nor warm so I couldn't know whether he was angry or sad.

"I'm cold," I told saying the first thing that came to mind. He stopped in his tracks and turned his body around that he was now facing me.

"You came to disturb my peace because you are cold?" he asked and I nodded my head innocently. "Do I look like a blanket to you?"

"Yes," I replied and he raised his eyebrows at me. "You are my groom and you are old enough so I need not explain to you what a man and a woman do with each other that provides warmth," I said to him.

"So you are suggesting we do that, to keep you warm?" he asked and I nodded my head. "Okay."

"What now?" I asked in disbelief that he didn't yell or threaten me that it won't ever happen between us but the cunning thing agreed. 'This is bad,' I screamed in my mind.

"I said yes. Let's do that which you have suggested lady Lara," he said with the adorable wicked smirk on his face.
