Chapter 34: Changing opinion
Theo got tired of walking around the forest to find Landon. It pissed him off how much trouble the human was to him. Ever since he met the young man he had been going on unscheduled adventures that were getting on his nerves.
He took a wedding bracelet out of his pocket, muttering the vows he threw the bracelet into the sky and waited.
"You couldn't wait to make her yours could you?" Sly asked him. The jealousy and anger oozing out of him were on a level that neither the prince nor his royal adviser and personal bodyguard had ever seen.
"I only intend to use the bracelet to locate her. It will be faster," he explained trying to calm the angry merman. Sly scoffed at him and went back to ignoring him.
Ryker and Zaugustus went away to find a door out of the forbidden land. It was evident that the more they stayed there dangerous the situation will get between them. There was already so much tension among them with killing intents in the air.
The bracelet found its way to Landon's wrist, it started to rain and a rainbow appeared in the sky with both their names on it.
"Congratulations, you are now a married man," Sly said buttery. "Perhaps I too should find myself a nice lady and get married," he added walking away from the prince. He didn't want the prince to see the tears in his eyes.
His statement awakened the beast in the prince. Watching him walk away only acted as an alarm clock for him. He rushed forward to catch the male and before he could reach him, Sly was already pulled back to him.
"You belong to me," he stated in a deep hoarse voice.
"Why? When you don't believe that then why do you say it?" he questioned.
"I mean every word of it," he said his tails that were wrapped around the merman's waist tightened.
Sly looked down to examine the prince, he was surprised to see a side of him he never knew existed. He could count close to seven tails all around his body and all of them were sending shivers down his spine with the negative energy coming out of them.
"A demon fox," he stated in awe. "Do you think I will change my mind if you show me that you are a demon? You don't know who you are trying to intimidate," he added.
Theo placed his cold hands at the back of his head and held him. Sly closed his eyes anticipating the kiss which he planned to dominate, he held his breath as he could feel the prince getting closer.
"Help me please," the prince heard a scream transmitting from his newly wedded wife's bracelet. He ignored it and tries to concentrate on the male in his arms. "I understand now why you are the way you are.
You didn't deserve what happened to you. You are innocent," he heard Landon mutter. As he listened to the male his demon form was retracting until he returned to normal.
"I judged you when all I should have done is try to understand you," he said sadly. Theo let go of Sly and ran off in the direction of Landon's voice to find him.
Sly watched him leave, his pain was visible on his face. His heart broke to pieces as he watched the prince ran off to find Landon. He was filled with disbelief, never in his life did he ever think that the prince would ever turn his back to him for someone else.
"You can enjoy your happy moments as they last because revenge is a dish I intend to serve cold lady Lara," he spoke his voice as cold as ice.
He took out his trident and pointed it to his heart. "Freeze," he commanded. The trident formed ice around his heart and froze all emotions out of his body. He stopped using his heart and only decided to use his terregenic crystal. He was a beast and beast had two hearts, one that was merely for feeling and the other that kept them alive and gave them their identities.
"You don't value my love and I am tired of trying of this constant fight for your attention. Perhaps you might learn to value me when I am no more by your side, goodbye Theo," he said without any emotion in his voice or his face.
With his trident, he created a path in the ground and water started flowing in the hole he had made when it reached the top of the whole he jumped into the water transforming into a merman and swam away from there to return to the ocean. The water around him froze to ice as he went on, it reflected his heart.
"Lady Lara," the prince said making his appearance known. Landon felt so happy to see the prince, he felt relieved that he might not die after all. "How dare you and your community attack one of my people?" Theo asked the spider girl angrily.
Landon was grateful to the girl for telling him about the prince. He would have continued to judge him without knowing the truth about him and that would have been wrong.
"She didn't mean me any harm. She has been very kind to me, she even stood up for me and convinced her people not to kill me," Landon said to save her. He had to repay her for her help.
"Is that so," the prince said suspiciously.
"Yes, they have been trapped here thanks to you. They just want to get out of this place and join the society once more."
"A life for a life. Since you saved my life I will grant your request," he said untying Landon from the web.
"You are a good person after all," Landon mumbled even though Theo could hear him. He smirked. "Little wolf, are you changing your opinion of me so soon," he teased taking him down from the web.
"Maybe," Landon said happily.
"Let's go, Ryker will handle the spiders," he said and left with Landon.
"By handle you mean.."
"He will all the paperwork needed and find them new homes," he replied. They made it back to where Zaugustus and Ryker were, giving instructions to Ryker concerning the spiders, the male looked at Zaugustus with pleading eyes.
"Fine, I will do it for you," Zaugustus said and he gave him a sweet smile.
"Where is Sly? We need to leave," the prince asked getting a bad feeling. The two males avoided his eyes and remained quiet.
