Chapter 10: Ronan wakes up
The Calla lily mansion was located in the center of the Wings of the diamond county under the sovereignty of viscount Eric Grace.
The Grace family were respected high nobility who held self-dignity and honor without abusing their power over the people lower in classes even if it was one rank below them. Everyone loved viscount Eric Grace's family except for their naughty youngest son Ronan.
Nobody really liked him since he was always very arrogant and narcissistic, Ronan thought too highly of himself despite being only ten years old. Ronan would often run from training and sneak out of the mansion to go to the underground only to bother the people with less advantage in life.
Only Ronan's bodyguards knew about it because they were with him all the time but he ordered them to keep it a secret from his parents because he will have some good scolding if they knew however all this secret was blown up when the captain of the guards Cain informed the viscount Eric when he glimpsed Ronan descending the staircase of sky.
And here is what Ronan brought upon himself when he messed up with the wrong person who is none other than the current holder of the Shadow thorn crown (Simon. Reference in ch.3).
"Where am I?" Ronan opened slightly his honey-colored eyes but his vision was still a little fuzzy, soon he adjusted his vision and was able to see clearly the familiar white floral patterned ceiling and feel the gigantic warmed cozy wool blanket on top of his tiny body.
A maid heard Ronan utter some words which were quite incomprehensible nevertheless she informed another maid to spread the news in the mansion that young master Ronan woke up then dashed and gave him a glass of water while helping him to sit so he can drink without choking.
"This is..." Ronan attempted to speak but the words vanished from his head before he completed his sentence.
"Oh! This is water young master. Have a glass to refresh yourself." The maid immediately answered what came to her mind first even if she wasn't really sure of what he was talking about.
"No not this, I know what water looks like." Ronan stared at his portrait on the other side of the wall blankly.
"I am sorry young master. Err then...may you tell me what do you want to know so I won't do this mistake again." The maid realized her stupid answer of course he knew this was water, but she still couldn't answer her young master.
"This place..." Ronan looked around the room not sure where he is at yet he was kind of familiar with his surroundings.
"Ah! This is the Calla Lilly mansion. Your house. Do you not remember young master?" The maid took away the glass of water from Ronan after he was done drinking and got up to continue her chores.
The door smashed open and a tall young man with golden blond hair came in rushing in Ronan's direction.
"Ronan you're awake!" The young man came and hugged Ronan tightly then gestured the maids to get out so he can have some space between the two of them only and they obeyed him straight away closing the door behind them.
"Brother...Why are you here?" Ronan straightened his back and sat properly or so he tried to until he failed and fell down to the bed again like a little potato with a grumpy face.
His brother chuckled at Ronan's sight and patted him on his head. "Why will I not be here to see my young cute brother after he picked a fight with an underground rogue, That to not just anybody but the holder of the Shadow Thorn crown at Lydan tsk tsk, the underground people and their ways of living." His brother sighed and sat beside Ronan.
Ronan blushed from embarrassment and looked down at his injuries.
"I thought you were busy with grown-up stuff like fighting, defending, and training humph! Anyways he was really the holder of the crown in the underground right?" Ronan noticed his brother is still laughing at him, he quickly looked to the mirror in front of him and blushed even more then slipped under the blanket. He muttered to himself of how he doesn't want to be white anymore so he won't blush, or so he believed that it works that way.
"Heh...Hey, why are you hiding your face are you shy? Did you see your love~ Or are you afraid? Don't worry That boy who beat you up is not here although they still haven't found him~ Just joking! About your question earlier, yeah he is the holder of that rotten crown according to the investigation, he wasn't found yet but we did obtain some information about him. Or at least a little information, the boy is kind of mysterious."
He smiled at Ronan and was preparing to leave after seeing that his brother seemed to be a little better after all he was busy as the first son of the Grace family. Jared Grace was the name of the eighteen-year-old respected noble who earned the title of a knight at a young age also a disciple under one of the strongest generals in the Phantom kingdom.
Jared once again gave a warm smile and left but before he did Jared informed that their parents were out for work and will be back by tomorrow morning also he had some training to do before he gets chewed out but he promised Ronan that he will come tomorrow too.
"I hope they find that lowly thing fast so I can teach him a lesson. Huh off with your head hehee! Hehe heh, heeehhe! I am so gonna...GONNA! Hmm...You are so dead! Be prepared to Hahaaa to die in my hand Lydan boy. Do you think am afraid? No, no no nooooo! You are most definitely wrong hehe~ Hell is waiting for you. Simon oh Simon what did you do tsk tsk, you messed with the wrong person, if you think you will get away with this then you are crazy! Oh, my love, I meant lord- My back ouch! My arm! Ugh, I can't breathe oh no I laughed to much- Kahh! Okay, am sorry I was just kidding- You are not here by any chance are you?! kaahha-."
And so Ronan kept on laughing, coughing and apologizing in a loop until a maid came in and put an end to this insanity, if she just came slightly slower Ronan would've been already on the floor unconscious.
"Young master should rest and stay still before something unwanted will happen." The maid looked at Ronan with concern and worry, she thought that he got hit on his head that's why he is so out of it, basically crazy. However, the insanity didn't stop yet, for the rest of the day and the night all the maids had to deal with Ronan's not so noble behavior.
The maids tried to calm down Ronan's craziness but started worrying about their hair which will probably turn white and even fall in their youth they were still single so they couldn't afford to lose their hair before getting married so they just called a doctor who wasn't a big help to them.
The doctor told them that his case wasn't serious and Ronan's actions were the result of the pain he is experiencing, he was just a little out of it, he will be okay in some time then left because he was so-called busy. Although in the maid's point of view was that he probably didn't want to deal with Ronan and just go home and play some cards with his family since he didn't look in rush at all.
The next morning...
The Grace viscount and his wife were back. They met with Ronan and hugged him, scolded him, and punched him...maybe weakly since it was his mother Erica who gave him one on his shoulder from the anger but of course, she instantly apologized to Ronan when she saw some tears at the corner of his eyes. Eric just chuckled at them and left them to talk with each other since he wasn't the type of person that show a lot of affection also he probably was gonna give Ronan a harder punch, after all, he discovered that Ronan kept on running away from his training and studying sessions.
And so his mother talked to him and nicely yet sternly warned him that he will get a severe punishment if he ever sneaked to the underground again to bother the poor same goes if he ran away from his training and classes. Ronan just nodded while rolling his eyes and when he thought she looked away he stoke his tongue slightly out at her.
PAH!
Erica saw what Ronan had just done and smacked him at the head while pressing her lips together and frowning at him. Ronan wiped his tears as fast as he could when a painful headache stroke his head followed by his mother's action.
Then suddenly a loud band was heard. Erica looked through the window but thick black smoke obstructed her view.
"Eric Grace come out before we take down you're son Ronan. We just bombarded Jared Grace, his burned corpse is right here for you to see, also you are surrounded so don't think of escaping."
