Chapter 4: Chapter 4
Scarlett and the rest of the Rebels of Destruction watched as the royal procession entered the stadium. She could barely contain herself as she watched the fanfare of the future princesses' arrival. "Isn't it amazing? There she is!" Scarlett could barely see through the curtains and stretched her neck to just get a better glance.
Mason, her father, walked up behind them with William, Bella's security, "Scarlett, come with us. It's time to meet the princess." Mason took his daughter's hand and her eyes almost sparkled with excitement.
"Miss Scarlett. You are aware of the rules. You can curtsy and only shake Princesses Arabella's hand if it's offered. Only speak if spoken to," William reminded her.
"Yes, sir. I remember."
The crowds were not yet in the stadium and the halls were abuzz from staff and XFW stars gossiping about their special guest. Entering the skybox, Scarlett was too nervous to talk. Arabella stood by the window looking over the stadium. She was just as excited as Scarlett was but doing her best to maintain.
Scarlett too was doing her best to keep calm. Not normal for her typical actions, Scarlett normally never shut up, but this was too important to make any mistakes. She walked into the skybox silently, doing as she was told.
"Arabella, we want to introduce you to Mr. Archer and his daughter, Scarlett."
Bella turned around, smiling sweetly, trying to remember her training. Deep down, she was ready to burst with excitement. When she was willing, she seemed very poised.
Bella shook Mason's hand, and after a quick chat, he stepped out to get ready for the show. When Bella looked at the quiet woman in the room, the girl bowed her head. Scarlett curtsied to the future royal over-and-over, not sure when to stop. Bella slightly giggled and tried to cover her amusement.
When Scarlett stood upright, Bella ran to her giving her a big hug. "I'm so excited to see you! I love Rebels of Destruction!"
The sudden change of tension in the room surprised Scarlett. Bella was just another normal Ohio girl, and it showed. "Really? I don't know what to do just now. I'm sorry. That was super creepy and awkward."
"William, can you please send everyone out, so I can visit with Miss Scarlett alone," Bella instructed.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Mason nodded and followed the security guard, giving his daughter some space to enjoy her night.
Bella turned back to Scarlett, taking her hands in hers. "Oh, my gosh! I'm so glad you talked your dad into this. I almost didn't get to come. I kept messing up, and they were about to say no to letting me attend. Princess training is a pain in the royal booty. I'm still an Ohio girl at heart, I guess. So, sit. Let's girl-talk. Do you have questions for me?"
"Okay. Umm... So? What is it like at the castle?"
Bella grabbed a bottle of water from the small snack buffet laid out for her. "It's cool, I guess. The island is pretty and I am learning to horseback ride. It's fun, but hard too. There are so many stupid rules. Girls have more rules than guys because Mecca still has some ancient traditions. And no hot guys our age are around the castle, only old dudes. I haven't had a date for months. You're lucky. You have Jett."
Scarlett laughed. "What? No way. Jett? Eww. Gross. Not a chance. That's just for the show. I'm dating Noah Wilson. Jett's single. He's not really my type. Jett's all muscles and long blonde hair. I like skinnier fit guys myself."
"Wow? I didn't know that. Jett's really cute. I don't think I could be all prim and proper around someone like him." Bella tried to not blush. "My princess training would really suffer," Bella said as she started giggling with embracement.
"You think he's cute?" Scarlett felt like they were already hitting it off. It was like hanging out with her friends back home.
"Don't you? The long wavy hair, his light brown eyes, that hot bodybuilder body. Big, but not too big. He's dreamy." Bella pretended to faint as she collapsed on the couch. The ladies started laughing at her silly antics. "You never heard me say this, but I would let him give me the royal treatment anytime. If you know what I mean?"
Scarlett cracked up, "Oh my gosh. He said that same thing about you a few weeks ago."
"Really? Wow." Bella was all smiles at the thought of her crush thinking she was attractive too.
The girls talked about guys, wrestling, and royal life for what seemed like forever. They instantly became friends and Scarlett was on cloud nine to be able to spend time with her. Bella was pretty much the average girl in a royal world. One she wasn't quite accustomed to yet. But she loved it so much, and it showed in the way she talked about her heritage. Even with her protesting against the outdated Mecca rules, Bella knew what it meant to her family and the people of Mecca Island.
"So, Bella. Your coronation is soon. Are you excited?"
"Yes. Hope I don't forget anything. But I'm excited except for wearing the big poofy gown. I have to do some traditional dance and I have two left feet."
The door opened, and William reluctantly interrupted the girl's bonding time. "I'm sorry ladies, but it's time for the show to start. Miss Scarlett, the producers are looking for you."
"Oh, yes. Bella, thanks so much for coming. I'm so happy to have met you. This has been amazing and I'll never forget it." She hugged the girl, ignoring the rules. This may be the last time she would see Bella, and she really wanted to be her friend.
"Thank you. I'm glad to be here. I'll keep in touch."
"That would be great. See you soon, I hope."
Bella nodded with a smile as Scarlett rushed out the door. Bella looked up at William with a happy grin and he nodded in approval.
