Chapter 6: Chapter Six: Sighting

Hey! don't judge me she can be a thorn in the behind.

I shut my locker and bounced off to my repose place. It was the school garden, I sat by myself inhaling the goodness of nature. Wet soil and red roses courtesy of me and some other plants for school related purposes. It was sports time and I don't do them. I usually just watch Christine wave pom-pom, do flips and get tossed up in the air and caught by her squad. I don't think I can put much trust in four pairs of hands to catch me and also my vomit would reach them first before me. Cheerleading is a dangerous sport

Today I just wanted to stay by myself and remember the good memories. Every single one of it that I shared with my father. He always believed in making memories and spending quality time. He says it's the thing to treasure more than anything, he was right. Every bit of my life was caught in a web of his memories, camping trips, vacations, play dates, swimming lessons, everything. It was a week to my birthday and I was just missing him alot. A tear slipped down my cheeks and I quickly wiped them away when I heard someone coming. I stood up and ran behind a table barely covering me. The whistling was getting closer then I saw the genitor coming in. We weren't allowed in there unless with a permission and I could get in real trouble if he catches me. I might have to answer for the crimes I didn't commit, months back damage has been done to the delicates plants which forced the principal to place the law.

He was looking around and nearly spot me, a scream was about to erupt from me when I slap my hand over my mouth and keeping it there. He turned around so that I was facing his back. I heard him undid his zipper and then the sound

What a prick! the genitor does it

Disgusting.

He was peeing on the plants, oh no! My roses. I wanted to go put his face on his dirty work but the table might turn on me. I watched him pee all over them, my anger was in an impossible range. The only place that calms my whole nerves during school hours. He pull his zipper back up and pull out a scissors out of his back pocket. He wasn't just stopping on the pee, he just had to do further damage. My heart cramped up when I saw one of my roses hitting the floor.

That does it

I lunged at him with all the energy I had pinning him against the wall. I looked at my dismantled roses and the stench of his pee taking over their sweet scent made me even madder. I gripped him hand with the scissors and twisted it until I heard his bones crackle. He dropped the scissors and I caught it mid air. He was screaming and pleading but I wasn't going to forgive him for destroying my peace. I turned him around sharply his face wet with tears and fear. I raised the scissors high and aimed it at his area.

It was what I would have done if I wasn't afraid of getting caught or sent to jail. I watched as he damaged them and sneakily left, I quickly came out of hiding and hung my backpack. I ran outside meeting up with oddly calm Christine. I nearly forgot

"How did it go?" I asked carefully

"I walked into the boy's locker room, slapped him across the face and broke up with him" she stated casually

"Into the boy's locker room? you could have gotten into trouble"

"It would have been worth it"

"I'm sorry, are you ok?" I asked just to make sure, she was really fund of Zane

"I'm alright, I wasn't that into him anyways" she brought her voice down into a whisper and added "I was just using him for math you know"

"You really are something" I said laughing

"What kind of a jerk doesn't love cats?" she yelled exceptionally loud as we walk down the hall hand in hand.

After school I came home and found mom wasn't home while she was supposed to.

I quickly pulled my phone out and tried to contact her and soon on I realized she texted that she won't be home and taken up some extra shift again and she won't be home until tomorrow morning. I knew she needs rest but she also doesn't want to have room for thoughts. she doesn't want to embrace the fact that dad is gone. I didn't have it in me to go upstairs, so laid back into the couch propping my head up with a throw pillow and just simply stared at the ceiling until I heard Max coming in through the doggy door.

"I'm in the living room!" I yelled and I heard his collar tag make clinking sounds as he walks to me. He immediately went on top of me and started looking my face.

"Yes, I have heard a great day too" I said as I tried to push him out of my face

"Uhhgg! you smell bad! where have you been today?"

"Ok now let's go have something to eat besides my face"

Hours pass like days when I'm alone. It's after seven and I had texted mom twice, there's not reply. I got worried but remembered maybe she was busy with work, I scroll through social media platforms aimlessly but nothing seemed to be passing time as it should; it was just 9pm. I had already changed and came back downstairs again with a blanket. Max rested at front of the couch while I was in it in a prone position giving him a tummy scratch.

Falling asleep was a nightmare on it's on to think of and I get even more scared when I'm alone. Dad used to stay with me if mom wasn't around and so did she, they took turns. But now that he's gone, I had to act brave for my mom's sake to ease things a little bit for her. I can't have her worried for me.

I laid on my back after I had enough of rubbing his fur and Max has been fast asleep. I didn't want to have those nightmares, there was something about them that upsets me alot. I always had my necklace on, so I kept in my fist and tried to go to sleep thinking of my father.

I took a breath in frustration after a while of squeezing my eyes shut. I sat up, put my slippers on and stepped over Max and went to the kitchen. I poured milk in a glass and threw it in the microwave to heat it up. I turned towards my kitchen window which was exactly showing outside to the front yard.

I saw something move

Curiosity took the best of me, I inched to the window glass right above the sink when I think I saw a pair of shiny eyes looking towards me. I shoved back in fear and quickly run back into the living room hitting the light switch off. I jumped in the couch and pulled the blanket to my face breathing heavily in small intervals.

I think I saw a feral wolf
