*BOOOM!*

Sitting up from the bed with a startle, I glanced out the humid window with squinted eyes, still half-asleep from suddenly waking up. Registering that it was raining just seconds later, I get up from my bed with slow movements, still half-asleep. As I was walking to the bathroom to start my daily routine, I hear a–

*CRAAK!*

*BOOOM!*

Again, which promptly shakes the sleep from my body, making my eyes go wide in almost fear of the sound. Getting my calmness back seconds later, I realize that it was just thunder and restart my walk back to the bathroom.

*BOOOM!*

*BOOOM!*

[Five Minutes Later]

I leave the bathroom with my pajamas still on, before looking outside my room, through the massive floor-to-ceiling window. I assume its daytime, before looking at my clock and confirm my assumption, seeing as it is 7:42 AM. Looking outside again, my mood instantly lowers as the rains outside the window are constant, with some winds carrying the water droplets some place.

*BOOOM!*

With that thunder, I start walking towards my living room, where I turn on the TV for morning news and head over to the kitchen.

*KATCHATT*

The TV turns on to a news reporter standing in the middle of a street, with a small town backdropped behind them, the winds violently whipping his yellow raincoat. The camera man or woman, obviously having trouble pointing it at the reporter, with the constant water against the lens and the violent winds moving the stabilizer.

"–standing here just a few miles away from the small coastal town of Clinton, where the people are evacuating from the horrible winds and rains. Their streets, houses, and businesses are getting flooded, and their traffic has stopped completely from the violent winds and floods.–"

When he finished saying that he gestured towards the camera man to turn the camera towards a group of people either walking with massive raincoats on their person and what he would assume is their personal property on their back. Behind of them, a massive row of trucks and sedans move through the road, again with their property on their roofs and their trunks.

*BOOOM!*

From the back, the reporter begins to talk again, while I go and start making myself breakfast, "–And this is not an isolated incident, small coastal towns across all of America and the world are getting evacuated to more inland cities and towns. In the coasts of America alone, waves have starting reach heights of meters tall, winds have started to reach category four speeds, and it only seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Just this morning, the National Weather Service announced that these are just the starting stages of this phenomenon, eventually, the winds would reach speeds of thousands of miles per hour, and many coastal locations like Florida or Hawaii would be swallowed up by the ocean.–"

That certainly caught my attention, as I live in Florida, but lets just hope that it would take a while for that to happen. After hearing that, the reporter went on and on about how much worse it would get, before they switched to other news, sports, and its cancellation for now, also due to the weather.

When they switched to sports news, my breakfast was already ready, and I ate with gusto. Before looking at the time, 8:23 AM. Just shy of 8:30, the very last minute that I can actually leave for work, otherwise I would get there late. So, I quickly took a shower, went to my closet, and changed into my work clothes. A pair of black work pants, a black jacket, and a white undershirt, along with a black tie and an umbrella.

*BOOOM!*

Walking out of my apartment, I head down on an elevator, look at the watch, 8:43, damnit, just shy of my best time. Let's hope that traffic is not bad today. Oh, who am I kidding, traffic is going to be horrible today with this weather. 'I was right', I think as I look at the massive backlog of cars on the streets and take out my umbrella before quickly trying to walk to my car without getting wet.

Unfortunately, just before getting to my car, I hear a *BOOOM!*, and instinctively looking up, just in time to see a massive lightning bolt heading straight towards me, before everything goes black.

I died.

.

.

.

Or I should've been dead, instead, here I am, in a place full of darkness and my thoughts. I don't know how long I have been here, in this dark place, this void, but just as I think that I will start going crazy, I feel a faint warmth, and see light. With the light comes a strong pull before I can suddenly see normally again. But something feels different, now I feel strong, and supremely more aware of my surroundings.

When I look around, I see a group of strangely dressed men and women, with Roman and Greek styles to their clothing. They all carry this strange feeling of strength and might, and a strange sense of superiority, then to what I'm used to.

"Lehies! My boy, Come!" (It is pronounced Leh-ghis)

Someone called out from the crowd, focusing on them, I found him to look middle-aged, like an old father or young grandfather. His hair and eyes black colored, his face carried a short but puffy black beard. His face looked relatively handsome for someone of his age, looking down at the Roman-like toga he is wearing, his refined muscles show from the opening at the shoulder.

Just his arms alone could scare away robbers or thief's, being they were the size of my head without even flexing them. As I was admiring his head sized arms, I saw him put his exposed arm around my neck and over my shoulder, like an old brother or someone very familiar. Yet, I neither recognized this person, nor the rest of them, and I do not yet understand what happened to me while in that void.

Just as this person was about to force me to walk forward under his arm, a massive headache suddenly overcame my entire mind. Yet the hurt and pain vanished just as suddenly as it came as if it never it existed in the first place. However, opening my eyes to see to floor closer to my face, and my knees closely hugging the floor, I knew that I felt that pain as suddenly as I imagined.

With the pain now gone and my mind free of pressure, I was able to see that I had new knowledge in my mind, something close to memories. Looking at the information inside, I finally figured out that the place that I was in was named the 'In-Between', a weird space of some sort, occupying the between of spatial and temporal dimensions.

I also know what is happening around me, and who most of these people are, along with who this person hugging me is and his job. I am, according to the knowledge painfully ingrained in my mind,

Lehies, the lesser God of Sky, Weather, Thunder, and Lightning. A minor god, but a god, nonetheless.

Basically Zeus, but part of another pantheon of gods, and from what I can tell, a pantheon from another world. But let's get back to who this person is, his name is Orious (Ori-us), the lesser God of Travel, Strength, and Wealth, and he is supposed to play my father figure in this new God life of mine.

Orious, seeing me still on the ground, quickly bent down and said, "What are you doing on the floor, Lehies. Get up quickly, the other Gods will ridicule you for being weak. Even after that birthing performance." Orious, half whispered half yelled to me, getting me to quickly stand up, just now noticing my clothing.

A white toga, much like the one Orious is wearing, and much too similar to the one that Zeus wears in most depictions of himself. Now that I was standing, he quickly put up a smile, while facing the rest of the lesser Gods that now had faces of disgust or displeasure.

We walked through the displeased crowd, me feeling weirded out by the Gods and Goddess, and Orious with a smile plastered on his face. When we left the crowd, Orious' face became one of displeasure, before becoming one of tiredness.

*Sigh* He sighed loudly, obviously tired from facing the thoughts and ridicule of those Gods, who seem very self-centered. He turned to me and smiled lightly, before introducing himself with a hand out, as if asking for a handshake.

"Hey, my name is Orious, the minor God of Travel, Strength, and Wealth, but I am sure that you already know that." He said, and I nodded to his self-answered introduction. But just as I was about to ask him a question, he raised his hand and spoke.

"Ah, ah, ah, keep the questions for when we get home." With that, he raised his hand and snapped his fingers, and just like that we were inside a very nice, but richly house. The decorations were full of gold, but not overly decorated with gold, as if to show of their wealth but not put it in your face.

"Wow!" I said subconsciously, as I looked at the massive double staircase leading to a second floor, with a gold encrusted chandelier hanging from the massive ceiling. In the middle of the room a small round table, with a vase and flowers sitting atop the table. Underneath the meeting of the staircase, a hall leads further into the house, to what I presume is the kitchen, living room, and perhaps others.

"Come, come. We need to discuss things." He, lightly waving at me to following him, which I did. We went under the staircase and into the hall, where we entered the first entrance to the right, into a nice, cozy, and homey living room, prepared with a massive tv, some paintings, booze, and cool decorations thrown throughout the room.

"Come, come, sit." Orious gestured at me to sit at a pretty comfortable looking couch, which I did, with him sitting opposite of him, on the opposite couch, behind a table at the center of the room. With a wave of his hand, a bottle of booze appeared in his hand, which he promptly opens and poured into a glass wine cup.

He must have seen the surprise on my face, because when he took a swig of the drink and looked at me, he almost spit it out from denied laughter. When I looked at him with a look of, 'WTF', he sighed and put down the glass on a coaster that was not there before.

"Ok, ok. I'm sure that you're confused right now, so let me make thing very clear. You are either long dead, just born, or something in between."

When I looked at him with a questioning look, he continued.

"If you were a mortal before becoming a God, then you are long dead. The self that you were when you were mortal, has long died, or rather, has been chosen and transformed into a deity. If you are just being born, then you are divinity taking shape, new-born, and should have no knowledge other than the one provided by your divinity. If you are something in between those things, then you should be a transformed deity, with some scraps of you past life as a mortal, that have been scrambled because of your divinity.–"

"–But judging from the look on your face, you are a transformed deity, and if you still don't know who you are, or are confused. You are now Lehies, the minor God of Sky, Weather, Thunder, and Lightning."
