Chapter 123: Chapter 123

"Ow." I muttered as I sat up in the small bed.

My entire body ached: my back, my arms, my legs, my feet and especially my head. My head almost always hurt. My back didn't sting anymore though. I moved my sore arm and felt my back. I touched it again. It was smooth. There was no blood, no scars, no nothing!

I brought my hand into my line of sight, completely clean. I just sat there gaping at it.

"H-how?"

The door opened, "Ah, good. You're awake. We're leaving in ten minutes."

Thresh stood at the door in blue jeans and a red flannel shirt.

I rubbed my temples as I squinted in the light that was streaming through the cabin windows. I suddenly sat straight up and immediately regretted it, I hissed in pain, "Are we home? Back in BC?"

"No, we're in Montreal." He said casually.

I raised my eyes to look at him in the face and began to laugh, in pure rage and annoyance.

"You-you brought me to Montreal? You! You brought me to-to, here! You, I can't- why?! Why would you do this?!" I wanted to strangle him where he stood.

He just watched me with unwavering eyes, then once I'd mostly stopped yelling at him, he glanced down at his watch and said, "As I said, we leave in now eight minutes. Get dressed in your least flattering clothes and then meet me outside."

He shut the door and I heard his footsteps as he walked away.

I laughed again, out of bafflement.

"Least flattering?" I was confused but just shook my head. I decided I was not going to be a child about this and did as Thresh had said. He probably had a reason. Besides least flattering was better than most flattering.

I got dressed in a v-neck that made my hourglass figure look like a rectangle and my normal blue jeans. I wore my favourite grey hoodie that did slightly hug my figure. I slipped my boots on and then my winter coat overtop which did nothing to accentuate my figure.

I shrugged as I stepped out of the plane and pulled my toque on. I checked my back pocket for my phone and didn't find it. I began to search frantically for it, I looked throughout the entire plane, except for the cockpit.

I stormed out, walking forcefully down the stairs.

"Where's my phone?" I asked Thresh who was propped leisurely against a silver sedan.

I was livid. My nostrils were flaring, my hands were splayed as I was moving them around to show that I didn't have it in my hands.

"I took it."

I licked my bottom lip and bit it, hard. I was trying really hard not to swear at him, in public. I let out a trembling laugh as I attempted to contain my anger.

"Why?" I smiled as I held my fist up to my mouth, "Why would you do that?"

I wanted to call Raph, I was way overdue for calling him, the timezones may be off but I hoped he wouldn't care, I desperately needed to hear his voice again.

"Because I'm not sure I can trust you where we're going." He said slowly.

I twisted my lips and bit the inside, "I want to call Raph, may I have at least one call?" I was standing with my arms crossed and tapping my foot.

He was being childish.

"No."

I gasped and spread my arms, "You are being a child! Why? One simple phone call! That's all I ask!" I jutted my finger at him, "When we get home, or when I get ahold of my phone I will tell Charm about this."

He just stared at my finger, undisturbed.

"And she will find that I was completely justified in my actions." He opened the door to the car and climbed in.

I narrowed my eyes at him. He was despicable.

Despite my feelings I climbed into the passenger seat and watched as we drove through the city of Montreal.

~~~~~~~~
"So, how did my back get healed so quickly?" I asked.
"Healers." He replied, I just nodded.
"So. Why did I have to wear this?" I asked pointing to my jacket.
He continued to look through the windshield at the busy road, "My brother has… shall we say, a reputation."
I raised my eyebrows and my lips twisted in disgust, "As in?"
He nodded and cleared his throat, "Yes."
I huffed, "So, all of your brothers are crazy?"
He cast a quick glance at me. I had siblings myself, sure they weren't easy, but none of them had ever tried to kill anyone before or had a reputation. At least to my knowledge, I desperately hoped that none of them had a… ahem, reputation.
We drove for fifteen minutes or so and it looked like we had entered a business district or something because the skyscrapers had gotten really tall and there were fancy people walking around. I still couldn't help but gasp as I leaned close to the window to catch a glimpse.
He parked the car and we got out.
I stood in front of a very impressive building and I craned my neck as my eyes moved to see the top of the building.
Thresh walked past me into the building and I hurriedly followed him.
I could sense just a smattering of Lycans, not a lot but enough to say that they had a presence here.
Thresh walked up to one of the many front desks, a female Lycan was sitting composed as she typed and talked to someone through a wireless earpiece.
Thresh stood there and waited, the woman hadn't glanced up yet.
I took a step closer, -What floor is your brother on?-
-He lives on the top three floors, but you can't get in there without a key.-
I nodded, -I see.-
I placed my hands on the counter in front of the desk and cleared my throat.
The lady glanced at me from the corner of her eye.
"Uh, yeah hi. We…" I tilted my head in Thresh's direction cause I didn't know what to say.
"We need access to the top three floors, we're guests of the." He paused, I think just for dramatic flair, "Boss."
The lady's eyes widened and she silently handed us a key.
I took it and smiled at the small victory.
Thresh stole it from my hand and walked away in the direction of one of the many elevators. I fake pouted as I glared at his back.
'Meanie.'
I skipped after him and got to him just as the doors were closing, ignoring my sore leg's objections.
"Which one's this brother?" I asked as he turned the key.
"Kratos."
